Red, with Twin Peaks following shortly after.
That should give us enough diplomatic breathing space with Templars, while still giving us the chance to capture those cows with culture.

I think we need a vote on where to settle next. With the irrigation to Green Acres going via the city of Burgundy, my vote has changed to Burgundy next. However, we may not want to settle on the tile with the sign on!

1W of the sign seems to get better land: less desert, an extra forested grass hill, an grassland instead of a plains, and a wines that Green Acres is not planning to use when in draft-mode. It loses out on the chance to use Pink's rice, but it can still use its cows. But also, importantly, it means we have 1 less farm to build since irrigation spreads through the city!

If we do decide to settle Burgundy next and we do decide to settle 1W of the sign, then we need to make sure that the forest 2W of the sign is chopped before the city is settled, since that forest needs to go into the globe theatre and not Burgundy. That means cancelling the worker building the farm and sending him into the globe-theatre-forest. The chop should come in before the settler arrives.

Edited to change east for west!

You mean the forest 2W of the sign, right?

I still prefer the northern spot.

The forest 2W of the "Burgundy" sign is illegal (proximity to Green Acres).

Yes, sorry if I wasn't clear: it's the spot 1W of the Burgundy sign that I think is better than the tile the sign is on.

Can we get a screenshot of northern option? I am likely to vote for Burgundy as suggested by Soooo anyway, but I want to see the other option first.

Actually, it was my fault for not reading the entire post; you clearly meant 1W of the sign. When there is BFC overlap, you can control which city gets the forest chop hammers by making sure that city has the tile "active" even if not worked in it's city screen. I don't recall if this works if a forest is right next to one of the cities however.

I did a quick check and the trick darrelljs described does work regardless of the forest being next to one of the cities.

                                From the previous page :

With four potential food resources (two as loaners) this city could whip a Granary/Lighthouse and be drafting fairly soon. I'd only favor Burgundy if we could use the Wines to trade for useful resources.
