I'm sorry I just don't get it. We've changed the email to not mention that we have settled the southern city. Our next paragraph asks them if they want to change their proposal in the light of absolutely no information. That makes no sense! The first draft (EDIT: Zeviz's draft) made sense, we should send that one. I think we're being way to overprotective of scouting information. If we don't say we've settled the southern city then the whole email makes no sense and says absolutely nothing to the templars. We are asking them to make a new proposal yet we refuse to tell them where we have settled, when, how many cities etc!

so, we have this ...
Sir Sir Aidun [Fancy Pants],
Team RB accepts that your team worked long and hard on your proposed Border Agreement, and we sincerely appreciate you efforts towards restoring our historically close relations.
However, when you settled Jericho in the disputed territory and sent no message to us, we assumed that your team had decided to scrap the any Border Agreement. Therefore, we settled our own city in the south.
Would you like to make a new proposal in light of this, or would you like us to give you feedback on your proposal?
Putting the Border Agreement aside, is there any other aspect of the game that you would like to discuss? As we have said in the past, Team RB remains interested in mutually beneficial trade, including tech, resources and religion.

You are right, sooooo.
Well, my proposal to not mention SF comes from the fact, that I am also of the opinion that the BA is dead in the water and we do not have to contact Templars at this point in time. We gain nothing from mentioning SF now. They will be mad at us no matter what. Now they will just be mad at us earlier.
Since it seems I am in a minority regarding this, you might as well send the Zeviz draft.
You will find me in my C&D office, sulking, you bunch of Templar-lovers, you.

another 2 weeks, another 'nothing' from templars. Oh how they must hate us ... mwah!!! Do we let this just sit and stew or do we reach out our hand of friendship? I don't think we have anything to gain by following up short of trying to maintain the appearance of friendship.
Maybe invite Sir Aidun over for some of M-H's milk and cookies?Quote: "All Happiness is the release of internal pressure"

No point in wasting our time at this point, IMO. Templars are our continent's Rabbits. They've been incompetent from start to finish. It's only a matter of time until our team, or Imperio, or maybe the two of us together, take them out of the game.
We probably would have done so already, if we had had any strategic resources at the start of the game.

I take it all back - email from Templar from 1 hr ago. They must have seen my post ...
Dear members of Team RB,
We hope you have had a holiday just as good as ours. Over here members
have enjoyed themselves through traveling, skiing, outdoor skating and
what other activities you can associate with the winter. Our activity
with regard to the game during the holiday has been low. This is the
main reason why it has taken a while to answer your letter.
We have discussed your most recent letter to us. In the light of the
efficiency and productivity of our negotiations, we deem that you
could best provide feedback on the border proposal we sent to you in
our last letter and how it is affected by the settlement of a city by
your team in the south.
For the members of the Templar team the conclusion of the border
negotiations with your team is important. The members are pleased to
note that your team has mentioned explicitly the mutually beneficial
character, a principle of great importance to the team, of the trade
proposed by your team. The members maintain, however, that the border
negotiations take priority over other discussions. This is especially
because the failure to reach an agreement on a border in the past has
negatively affected discussion among the members on trade and
religious exchange.
It is my hope that we can continue the positive atmosphere that
breathes from your letter for the renewed border negotiations and what
other discussion could possibly come afterwards.
Best regards,
Sir Aidun

So with Imperio possibly gearing up towards us, good relations with templars are even more important.
They were okay with us settling a city (BA) to act as a land bridge between cape town and the rest of our civ, right?
So I say we draw a map saying we'll settle one city in this general area and nothing else further
How's that?
