Rip off all molding, tear out all carpet, rip out floorboards and rewire the front room and computer room to get better network in the house, install new subfloors, install new underlayment, patch, prime, paint front room, install new pergo (laminate) flooring.
Move out furniture from family room and kitchen, strip off old laminate from kitchen, tile underneath that, carpet in family room, molding around everything, add new underlayment to family room, patch, prime, paint walls in kitchen/family room, install new pergo flooring through kitchen/family room.
THAT is the point we are now at. 1 week. And, all I can say, is I'm still coughing up laminate dust as we finished last night.
Next will be moving furniture around, followed by cutting and painting trim, putting trim back up and painting/staining the cabinets, but these are not so much a rush as we can live with that for a while.
And, just think. I'm planning to demolish all of it in 7 years anyway. Knock out the entire back wall of the house, and add 10 ft out the back. :crazy:One who has a surplus of the unorthodox shall attain surpassing victories. - Sun Pin

My wife updated with more pictures last night (including the finger picture), so it's a decent slideshow now showing the whole thing somewhat in order. There was special circumstances on me chopping my finger. (yes, I'm Cole)
I'm there cutting 1 1/2" spacers that you need for this laminate in every doorway, but that the install kit does not provide.
Actually, the whole install kit is a ripoff, but that's a rant for another time and place.

I've been watching Catherine Zeta Jones movies to see how best to navigate the various pipes etc. (at least that's what I tell FeMme) Nice technique there girl!!!!
We'll keep you full of food and booze, and think of it as being a good way to see West Auckland in the winter........
