The only reason I am continuing to play is because I don't want the Banana team to be taken over by the AI. I have already mentioned how unsatisfying it is strategizing against the wax figures that have replaced our enemy in the battlefield.
So I will will officially vote on behalf of banana to discontinue the game. That way, both Team RB and Rabbits would need to record team votes in favor of keeping the game alive in order for me to stay involved here.
Let's solve this one way or another.

Templars will not agree to opening our forums to the general public.
If you want to know what went on in our forums, then you should have been a Templar*"Winning is still the goal, and we cannot win if we lose (gawd, that was brilliant - you can quote me on that if you want. And con - I don't want to see that in your sig."- Beta

With all due respect, why is that? The only people who are ever going to care about what happened in this game are the three dozen or so folks who participated in it. And for our small group of six teams, we would all dearly like to know how and why decisions were made. Withholding information from the other teams seems rather spiteful, in all honesty. I mean, this isn't exactly the Cuban Missile Crisis. I can't imagine that there's anything in the private forums that's so ultra-secret that it can't possibly be released to the general community. It's just a game of Civilization.
We at Realms Beyond have been looking forward to reading through all of the team forums when the game closes. There's a genuine desire to know what happened in the Demogame, and we'll forever remain in ignorance if the individual team forums remain closed. I would like to politely ask the Templars to change their stance. Openness and free disclosure of information should be a hallmark of these games. (At CivFanatics, the forums are always opened after the Demogames conclude, for example.) We certainly plan to open up our forums to anyone and everyone who is interested in reading them.

Lose yourself in one of many epic tales and be inspired to write yourself, as I was.

Let's just open the forums - no one will take any offence I'm sure. If anyone has written "RB are landgrabbing idiots!" or "Will Templars just shut up about that border agreement?" then no one is going to be offended. It's not a personal attack, just a critique of a civ playing style. We're all grown-ups here, we can all take criticism, let's just enjoy reading the other teams' threads. I'm sure other teams want to read the other forums too. It's just a game anyway .

Is this all? I know I've probably called all five teams a bunch of idiots (or worse!) at some point in time in the past year. Usually when they refused to do what we wanted them to do. But we're all grownups here, I'm sure no one will be upset over what went on in the heat of the game.
If I go and play a game of pickup basketball with my friends, I don't freak out if there are some elbows thrown or some heated words exchanged. It happens. But when the game's over, we go have a drink and enjoy shooting the breeze over what took place. I think the Demogame should work the same way, and we'll all enjoy it more.
EDIT: cross-posted with sooooo with a nearly-identical message.
