Tiens!, Tiens!, Two Korean Guerrilla Brigades, launch a surprise sneak attack on Lutetia. We were not expecting an attack on Lutetia, but we didn’t take into account the Guerrillas movement through the jungles and hills. In Lutetia, we only have 1 Infantry Brigade stationed there, with our General Charlemagne. Charlemagne quickly gets flashbacks, of the last time, invaders attacked his home town. Back then, he couldn’t do anything, as the Babylonians streamed through. But this time, he was in charge and he sure as hell, wasn’t going to let Lutetia be occupied again.
Communication is lost with the mainland and Charlemagne knows reinforcements will not come, until this initial battle is over. The Guerrillas move in fast and hard, their armed with bayonets, attached to their assault rifles. Our Infantry however, is dug in tightly, with heavy weapons pointing outward. The initial Guerrilla attack proves hairy, as their speed is anything we’ve seen before. We are just aiming at the jungles, hoping to hit something.
Charlemagne however, is a former Guerrilla fighter from the Lutetia Resistance, he knows those jungles like the back of his hand. Those jungles are laid with mines and very soon we begin to hear, the screams of the Korean soldiers, as their body parts start flying. Throwing up flares, we light up the night sky and lay waste to any of the Guerrillas, unlucky to be in our sights. Before we know it, 1 Guerrilla brigade, retreats back into the Jungles.
Back in France, Napoleon is made aware of the situation and convenes an emergency meeting of the Joint Chiefs. Before the meeting starts however, something unexpected happens. Napoleon receives a message from the Chinese Embassy in Paris, it reads;
“You have made a big mistake, by attacking our Korean friends. We will now honor our M.P.P. with the Korean nation. Get ready to feel the wrath of the almighty, red dragon. This is a declaration of war.”
(WTF- - We have not even crossed into Korean territory yet or killed any Korean at all. In fact we haven’t done anything, it’s not even our f-ing turn yet. What’s worse, is that we were getting Wines from the f-ing bastards.)
In Lutetia, there still remains a Guerrilla brigade to defend against. This time, Charlemagne and our Infantry are going to make sure, they can’t escape. Charlemagne calls out to his overwhelmed troops, “men, do not be afraid, for God, is on our side. I’ve been in tough situations before, the most important thing to remember is, you were born to KILL! Defenders of Lutetia, FOR THE ENEMY, ONLY A BULLET!!!” The message is very clear as the young boys eyes turn into an angry dark red.
He orders a company to move out into the jungles, to cut the Koreans off. It is a dangerous mission, since our Infantry have not been trained to fight in jungles. Charlemagne himself leads the company, since he has the experience in the jungle. Once again, our Infantry beat the Guerrillas down, as they continue to rush into Lutetia and once again, they retreat to the jungles. Waiting for them there however, is Charlemagne and his company. They ambush the Guerrillas and everyone takes a turn spitting on the dead Korean soldiers, as a sign of disrespect.
The men in Lutetia were outnumbered 2 to 1. It was a sneak attack and only a Great Leader, could have saved the town. Today, Charlemagne is such a Great Leader, and he has saved France, the way France once saved him.

korea is the big blue-ish, thing in the far west. China is far, far away in the pink continent, out east.
1240
Currently, we have trade agreements with the Russians, Americans, and Zulus, which are exporting luxuries to us. In order to prevent what happened with the Chinese Wines, Napoleon attempts to sign alliances with them, against the Koreans and Chinese. Shaka will hear none of it, Lincoln politely declines, but Catherine of Russia (Ivory) agrees. We ally ourselves, with the Russians against the Chinese. Russia is one of the low-countries and although weak, they are protected by the vast Occidental Ocean. Napoleon also consults with all of the world leaders, to set up embargos against the aggressors. Most of the world agrees with France and embargos are sanctioned (too many to mention).
In France, the cities break out into riots, as the shipments of Wine stop. The citizens blame Napoleon, for a culture of complacency. However, when the people hear, about the heroic Charlemagne and the Lutetia defenders, only a flame of patriotism, begins to burn. Napoleon is scheduled to give, the most important speech of his life, in the evening. Before the speech, there is a march by the military bands, in Paris on the Champs-Élysées. There the trumpets play and the drums beat, to rile-up the masses, as everyone chants, “Death to Korea.”
By the time Napoleon speaks, the holy fire of nationalism is burning feverishly. In this time of crisis, Napoleon must now speak to the nation, in prime time TV and radio. In every city in France, hundreds of thousands, gather in the city squares and plazas, to see our leader speak, on the large screens. Napoleon seems calm and collected, as he begins his speech;
“Late last night the Korean hoards, attempted to surprise the French nation, in a most deceitful way. There however, they met one of our most honored and decorated Generals and his men, Charlemagne. Outnumbered and outgunned, Gen. Charlemagne has beaten back the intruders. It is our first victory, in this Korean War, but I can assure you, it will not be the last.
It’s the second time, a foreign devil has betrayed our R.O.P. agreement. The last time the Demon escaped, as our then President, ended the war prematurely. This time, things are going to be different. With the backing of the brave, heroic French people, our troops will battle the enemy and defeat them. Before leaving you tonight, I must make a promise to you. That promise, is that our troops will march all the way, to the Korean capital of, SEOUL! Oui, nous y allons! POUR LA VICTOIRE! VIVE LE FRANCE!!!”
Napoleon’s passionate and eloquent speech, moves every listener and the crowds, begin to cheer and dance. We now know, we will take the fight, all the way, to the Korean capital. In Poitiers, the people chant, “the Great Satan will be destroyed”. In Toulouse, they scream, “we will fight, to the last man”. In the metropolises of Lyon and Reims, they shout, “Korea, your time is up ”, as they burn Wang, in effigy. But in Paris and the rest of the major cities, the battle cry for our people, is the same as it was, for Charlemagne and the Lutetia Defenders, “POUR L’ENNEMI, SEULMENT UNE BALLE”
Napoleon now gathers the Joint Chiefs, along with D.G.S.E. agents, in a secret meeting in the city of Marseille. The Joint Chiefs, now includes Major General of the Air Force, Thierry Pasteur. There D.G.S.E. agents hand out secret documents, containing up to date information, on the Chinese military;
Chinese Military

71 Infantry
4 Cavalries
3 Artillery
Paramilitary:
6 Guerrillas
8 Terrorists

1 Battleships

China is located in one large continent, far away from us. They have a monopoly on Wines, but to assemble a competent invasion force and navigate there, would take a very long time. Napoleon makes the announcement on the Chinese situation;
“I think you will all agree with me that, no offensive action should be taken against China, until the Koreans are soundly beaten.”
“I concur, and as Admiral of the Northern Fleet, you can all rest assured, that any Chinese invasion attempt will be met, by the ferocity of our Navy”, responds Adm. Resnais of the North Fleet.
“I am glad to hear that Admiral. Your mission will be code-named OPERATION INVASION DENIAL.”
“Now that we have the Chinese situation figured out, let’s concentrate on the Koreans. I propose an all out blitz, on the bastards. Give me my Tanks and I will lead you all to victory, of course”, says Maj. Gen. Richelieu.
“Actually, I have something else in mind for the Korean War. I want to divide our force into two groups. You Richelieu, shall lead one and our new Great Leader Charlemagne, shall lead the other”, an assertive Napoleon says.
“That’s nonsense, why would you divide our Army in two? You will only weaken us”, a concerned Richelieu replies.
“Amateur, I have proven this tactic worthwhile, in the Antarctic Island. Don’t you see, two battle groups will prevent the Koreans, from massing into one S.O.D., which would slow us down tremendously”, says the intelligent, master tactician Napoleon.
“I’m still not certain, the young Charlemagne will prove effective, in the battlefield”, questions Richelieu.
“Effective, he will be. Now Gen. Pasteur, I need you to bring our entire Air Force, into the Biscay region. Also, Adm. Yanne, I need the South Fleet to start transporting our Tanks, Infantry and Artillery into the area. And of course, look out for any enemy vessels in the Atlantique”, says Napoleon, as he unequivocally, asserts control of the battle plan.
“Consider it done. Our brave pilots are flying into Amatikulu and Zunguin as we speak”, an eager Pasteur says.
“Absolutely, Napoleon. In fact we have reports of a spotted Ironclad, near the Antarctic Island. They won’t be afloat to long, ha, ha”, laughingly, Adm. Yanne replies.
“So what does the D.G.S.E. have on the Korean numbers?”, questions Napoleon, as he looks at the D.G.S.E. officials, present in the meeting.
“Well Mr. President, as you know our spies were captured, some time ago. So the numbers are, kind of old”, says a top D.G.S.E. official.
“Nonetheless give us the documents!”, demands Napoleon.
The D.G.S.E. officials comply and once again hand out, secret documents on the Korean military;
Korean Military: as of year 1160
Army:
61 Infantry/ Spearmen
3 Cavalries
36 Artillery/ Hwach’a
Paramilitary:
13 Guerrillas/ Longbow, etc.
Navy:
4 Ironclads
1 Frigates
1 Assault Ships (transports)
1 Galleys
“What does this mean? These numbers are, damn old”, shouts Richelieu.
“It’s better than what I had to deal with, in my campaigns”, responds Napoleon.
Napoleon continues, “I will now hand over the Marseille Protocols, with our objectives. Generals of France, there is only one way, this war is going to end. And that is with SEOUL, BURNED TO THE GROUND.”
A dead silent now poured across the conference room, as everyone now knew, our main task, was to reach deep into Korea and raze its capital. It was pretty clear to all, the only way home was through a completely shattered Seoul. The Protocols listed the following objectives, in the war known as, OPERATION SEOUL DESTRUCTION:
OBJECTIVE 1: Capture Kaesong (7), near Coal deposits, which would give us our 2nd Coal and it also gives us access to the Gulf of Korea.
OBJECTIVE 2: Capture Larsa (2), the only Korean city with access to the Zulu Gulf and South Atlantique Ocean.
OBJECTIVE 3: Capture Cheju (5), 2 Incense deposits and gateway to the heart of Korea.
OBJECTIVE 4a: Capture Wonsan (10), 7 Incense deposits in city. This would anger all nations to whom Korea is currently supplying Incense and ruin their economy. It will also serve as a staging point for Objective 5.
OBJECTIVE 4b: Capture Ulsan (5), town in Southeast Korea with Oil. The city is surrounded by Zululand.
OBJECTIVE 5: The complete and utter destruction of the Korean Capital Seoul (19). End the war, as the strong message would’ve been sent.
Charlemagne path in green, Richelieu in pink. Make no mistake, I WILL make it to Seoul. No matter how long it takes me!
Nobody really knew what to make of the Korean numbers, as the information was quite old. Commander in Chief Napoleon, is pretty sure we have superior numbers and he orders Richelieu to head for Amatikulu and set up a base for operations for one group. Newly proclaimed war hero, Charlemagne will be in charge of the second group, which will be based in Zunguin. The cities of Amatikulu and Zunguin are heavily defended with Infantry, Artillery and many Cavs.
Charlemagne was given Obj. 1 and told to operate from the town of Zunguin. He is ecstatic, as he learns the news that he will command one half of the French Army. Outside of Lutetia, the injured Korean Guerrilla brigade is finished off, by our Infantry. The cowards were being eaten alive by the mosquitoes, so we just put them out of their misery. Charlemagne now makes his way into Zunguin, which will be the headquarters of his operation. Zunguin is right on the front lines but this town, as well as Amatikulu are now sharing 6 Tanks, which just recently arrived at Cherbourg port, from Gaule. Also, Air Force General Pasteur has flown in 8 Bombers and 1 Fighters, within striking distance, of the advancing Korean troops and border cities. Meanwhile, our scientist are researching Computers, which could lead to many improvements in our military and lives.
Richelieu was given Obj. 2, 3 and 4b, he would operate from Amatikulu. Richelieu arrives in Amatikulu and immediately prepares, for the capture of Obj. 2, Larsa. He moves a Cav brigade into the Mountains, to serve as a scout and spot enemy movements. The path to Larsa is rugged, and our Tanks and Artillery, can only move pass through the Mountains, if there are roads (Wheeled). The only road crossing the Mugabe Mountains, is the Isipezi Road. However, this road is out of the way and it would delay the Larsa attack too much. Instead Gen. Richelieu decides that a Special Ops mission is in order, using Marines. We shall attack the Koreans, from the sea.
“To achieve an advance that cannot be hampered, rush to his weak points. To achieve a withdrawal that cannot be pursued, depart with superior speed.” (tzu)
Objectives 4a and 5 would be a collaboration effort between the two Generals. The plan is to meet up in Cheju and recuperate. From there, the “March to Seoul” will begin. Everyone agreed that in the Babylonian War, we hardly fought the real Babylonians. We conquered far off territories and never set foot, in the Babylonian Empire, where the real resistance was at. In fact, in all our wars, except for the Carthaginian War, we only fought the enemies, at their weakest point. Perhaps this led the Koreans to believe, we were not real brave fighters and we wouldn’t fight to the end, in a major conflict. The only way to prove to the world we meant business, was to destroy the heart of Korea,………..Seoul.
Near the Antarctic Island, in the South Atlantique Ocean, the Korean Ironclad, that Adm. Yanne talked about, is spotted. Adm. Yanne is in charge of the South Fleet and immediately orders a nearby Destroyer, to confront the enemy. Our Destroyer is armed with acoustic and electronic underwater detection devices, used for locating and destroying enemy submarines. I guess an ancient Ironclad, should pose no problem. Well, it almost did, but eventually our 5-inch guns and anti-ship missiles proved fatal, for the Koreans at sea. Our Destroyer, then ships into the port of Bayonne, to repair the damage it received.
IBT: Korean Submarine sinks one of our Ironclads, in the Zulu Gulf. The Ironclad was no match, for the unseen Submarine. We have no sonar technology on these Ironclads, but we still keep them around as sea patrol. In the front, there is more movement from the Koreans. 1 Guerrilla, 3 Cav, 1 Knight brigades all approach Zunguin, capturing our some Workers (Damn it, I forgot about him). Our Workers are executed, by beheading and their headless bodies, are thrown on the hills outside Zunguin, as a message. They also, commence to pillage our improvements around town.

12 more military units arrive at Cherbourg from Dijon, they consist of Marines, Infantry and Artillery. Charlemagne needs to make his way onto Kaesong, and there is only one passable road through the Mugabe Mountains, where our Tanks and Artillery can move through. It is the famed, Isipezi Road. There is history on this road, as it directly passes through the “Hills of Death”, where many of our soldiers from the Zulu war were massacred and are still buried. Outside Zunguin we still have to take care of the Korean troops nearby in the Hills.
“If he prepares to defend everywhere, everywhere will be weak. The few are those preparing to defend against others, the many are those who make others prepare to defend against them.” (tzu)
The 6 Tank companies in the area are all given to Charlemagne, since Napoleon knows, Kaesong will be much tougher than Larsa. Charlemagne orders the Tanks to blast through the, 1 Grl, 3 Cavs, 1 Knight brigades outside Zunguin. We move out with our Tanks to meet the enemy. The Koreans are in shock, as our heavy Tanks penetrate their defenses. We started blasting at their fortifications, with our 80 mm. Cannons, on our turrets. Our speed and armor in the battlefield, is unprecedented. Much of the enemy is devastated and horrified, by our awesome power. They have no defense and the Koreans quickly get blasted to hell. Our first impression of these Tanks is unbelievable, pretty soon we are also going to find out about our Air Force. The Generals are all giddy with anticipation.
Our Tanks smash their positions and roll all the way to the Mountains, east of the Zulu town of Isipezi. Our Artillery and Infantry, are quickly put in place there, to defend against any counterattack. We are not haunted, by our Zulu War past. We travel the same road, our ancestors died in and pay our respects to the heroes. If another massacre is to occur on this same road, by God, we are going to make sure, we take a bunch of Koreans with us. Charlemagne still has Cav brigades in the area, and he sends them through Celtic territory to attack Kaesong from the north. The Celtic territory has very little roads and is covered by jungles and mountains, so unfortunately, we cannot send any Tanks or Artillery to reinforce them.
Meanwhile, to the south in Amatikulu, Richelieu, using Transport Assault Ships, lands a force of 5 Cavs, 3 Inf brigades in the mountains outside of Larsa. He hopes the Koreans in Larsa will slaughter themselves, in retaking the Mountains That‘s because the real attack, will be a Special Ops mission, from the sea, by our Marines. The men on the mountains report to Richelieu that, there are only Spearmen visible in Larsa. Richelieu quickly calls in air strikes, to destroy the only road leading into Larsa, to stop any reinforcing (or upgrading) of Infantry.
IBT:
Napoleon gets the word, that the war is beginning to widen, as early reports indicate that India and China, have allied themselves against Russia. India has declared war on Russia. For our Russian friends, it could be trouble, as India is not too far away from Russia.
In the North Atlantique Ocean, 2 Chinese Ironclads are spotted by one of our submarines. Also in the area, is one of our many behemoth Battleships, the M.N. Bretagne. We are soon going to make short work, of those Ironclads. Back in the Korean front, a huge number of Korean troops are seen heading into, either Kaesong, or to the nearby Mugabe Mountains. Our intelligence is not the greatest, so it’s not clear, where they are going. In International news, Babylon and Rome have signed a Peace Treaty. Well, they better stay out of our conflict, or else.

I like this kind of stories that are based in real games, and have screeshots of it in the thread.Periodista : A proposito del escudo de la fe, Elisa, a mí me sorprendía Reutemann diciendo que estaba dispuesto a enfrentarse con el mismísimo demonio (Menem) y después terminó bajándose de la candidatura. Yep, when ever a story discontinues for a few weeks, or so, I forget about what happened previously. So, I’m just trying to make sure that, you all don’t forget too much, about the previous installments. Hopefully, I won’t have any delays, but it is “Hurricane Season.” Even a simple Tropical Storm, can knock out the electricity for a few days, here in my “Isla del Encanto.”

On to the story:
1255
More troops continue to be brought in, through the port of Cherbourg. Were are getting 12 units every shipment, from the mainland. Richelieu however, isn’t receiving any Tanks for his army group and he is fuming. He calls up Napoleon, on a secure line and he tells him;
“Where the hell are my Tank companies? I know they’re being brought to Cherbourg, but I have yet to see any of them.”
“We have intelligence reports, that a large number of Koreans, were seen heading in the direction of Kaesong. To combat this, I have diverted all Tanks, to Gen. Charlemagne”, counters Napoleon.
“WHAT? Charlemagne is getting all my Tanks. That’s some B.S., if I’ve ever heard any. I have 3 objectives to meet, compared with 1, for Charlemagne. How is it rational, to give him all of the Tanks?”
“Grrrrr, be reasonable! The attack on Kaesong is vital to the war effort, we have to get the Coal deposits, nearby. You’ll get your Tanks soon enough. And don‘t forget, I‘m the Commander in Chief, so watch your tone of voice.”
“I’m going to hold you to your word, Napoleon. You better not screw me over”, says Richelieu.
Napoleon hangs up the phone, furious at his General’s response. But at the same time realizes, that he once behaved the same way, when he was a General.
On the Isipezi Road, Gen. Charlemagne now makes his advance, with his Tanks and Infantry. Charlemagne orders 2 Tank Companies and 1 Infantry brigade to control the road leading to Kaesong, in order to prevent more reinforcements. The important real-estate, is a small patch of desert, on the edge of the Gulf of Korea. Fortified on the desert patch, is a Korean Infantry brigade. Our Tanks come rumbling down from the Mountains, closely followed by our Infantry. We cross the small Plains area and there, the Koreans become discernible.
We start pounding them, in an all out, full assault. We are continually advancing, Tanks are not Artillery, we must advance, while at the same time hitting them. Behind the Tanks, our Infantry shatter the Korean lines and break their will. The troops, now give word to their General, “we are here at the edge of the Gulf of Korea and it is beautiful.” Charlemagne can only smile, as he hears the special words. Also, his 3 Cav brigades are making steady progress, as they approach Kaesong from the north, through Celtic territory.
“Calculate advantages by means of what was heard, then create force in order to assist outside missions. Force is the control of the balance of power, in accordance with advantages.” (tzu)
Back in the Mugabe Mountains, on the Isipezi Road, Napoleon orders a group of Workers, from the Biscay territory to start laying down rail-road tracks. When the rails come in place, our forces will be able to advance, in rapid sequence. Napoleon doesn’t want any of the Generals to stay behind, just to protect these guys. Instead, he announces to his Generals and the public;
“In order to protect these civilian Workers, I your President, will take command of some Artillery companies and Infantry brigades. I don’t want you all to think, that I am returning as a General. No, instead I’m just releasing our current Generals, from any responsibilities for these Workers. I shall take all the blame if something horrible, is to happen.”
The news television stations go crazy, as the leading stories are all about, “Napoleon, a General again?”, “a President and a General.” The armchair Generals on TV say, “This is a smart move. I mean, Charlemagne and Richelieu are there to advance through the Korean countryside, not stay back and guard civilians.” Of course, all these armchair Generals were put in place by the Noire Pluie, in order to pump up the war strategy. So, they aren’t going to say anything unpleasant.
Meanwhile, back in the battlefield, our Air Force is operating with impunity, we are bombing the hell out of the Korean military, with no enemy aircraft in sight. Their most important task right now, however, is to weaken the defenders of Larsa. Richelieu orders, a round the clock bombardment on the town, to soften the positions for our Marines. Larsa promises to be a unique amphibious operation, certainly one very difficult to conduct, because of natural conditions. The narrow, shallow harbor necessitates a daylight approach for our Assault Ships, carrying our Marines. Accordingly, it is necessary to schedule the main landings, for the late afternoon high tide. Although we have a large force assembled in the Mountains outside Larsa, the capture of the town would be up to, the 2 Marine brigades, which are now shipping out from nearby Amatikulu.
“In ancient times, those skilled in warfare make themselves invincible and then wait for the enemy to become vulnerable. Being invincible depends on oneself, but the enemy becoming vulnerable depends on himself.” (tzu)
Despite a constant heavy rain, which begins to fall in the late afternoon, the operation is a go. Naval gunfire from our assault ships, cover the closer approaches to Larsa. Assault troops of the Marines, begin going over the sides of their transports and into the landing crafts, at 1330 hours. Our Bombers now begin to pound the beaches of Larsa. The landing areas are muddy, due to the heavy rain and our bombings make the soggy soil, soar up in the sky. The men in the crafts begin to yell, as they can hear, if not yet see, our impressive air power. Our Landing crafts now cross the lines of departure at 1445 hours, and forty-five minutes later, near the beaches.
At first sight of the beaches, the Marines face an eerie quite. There is no sight of the Koreans yet, but we are sure, that they’re there. The first wave of Marines, reach the sea wall at 1533. Most of the men now begin to climb over the sea wall, with scaling ladders. A few Marines are able to go through some holes in the wall, which were made by the aerial bombardment.
On the left flank of the landing area, our Marines encounter enemy troops, in trenches and a bunker just beyond the sea wall. There is an intense fight. “RAT, TAT, TAT” the rapid fire, from the assault rifles, fills the air. Our Marines begin to yell, as they lunge at the enemy, “EAT LEAD F***ERS, COME GET SOME.” Through the mud we crawl and unleash a hail of gunfire on the enemy, with our automatic rifles. It is supposed to be a daylight attack, but the dark, gray, stormy clouds, make it feel, as if it where the middle of the night. Our Marines lose a few men, while many more are wounded. In the end however, the threat is neutralized and exterminated.
Assault elements of the 2nd Marine brigade, begin landing at 1542, about 10 minutes after our first brigade, in a different beach. Most of the men, are forced to climb the high sea wall, to gain exit, from the landing area. One group of men, go astray in the smoke and land on the mud flats, where they get stuck. After successfully climbing over the sea wall, we begin to make our move, towards the heart of the town. Our main objective, is the high ground know as “Cemetery Hill.”
“Disorder came from order, fear came from courage, weakness came from strength. Disorder coming
from order is a matter of organization, fear coming from courage is a matter of force, weakness coming from strength is a matter of formation.” (tzu)
Our Marines rush up the hill, only to encounter the enemy Spearmen beaten and battered by our Bombers. They are the last defenders left in Larsa. We engage them and a small scuffle proceeds. But their efforts are futile and they know it, as they begin to surrender. Twenty-two minutes after landing, our Marines fire up a flare, signaling that we now hold “Cemetery Hill” and the city of Larsa. “Hoo-ah!!!” In the harbor, our men now notice an abandoned Korean Ironclad, we set up explosives on it, and blow it to kingdom come. Our other troops waiting on the Mountains, now move into Larsa safely, to secure the town. Now Richelieu’s Tanks, if he ever gets any, can bypass the Isipezi Road and ship out from Amatikulu into Larsa, saving valuable time.
Back at sea, in the North Atlantique, our Battleship M.N. Bretaigne and nearby submarines. set their sights on the Chinese Ironclads. Our Battleship, using its nine 16-in guns in three turrets, unload a ferocity of fire power. Then our attack Submarines, move in for the kill. Out of their sides, the torpedoes come flying at the Ironclads. The Chinese sailors never had a chance, as their 2 old rusting Ironclads, burst and sink.
Richelieu tells Napoleon of the successful operation;
“We straight blew them out of the city. Whooo!!! We came so fast, they didn’t know what hit them.”
“Now is not the time to get cocky. Secure Larsa and prepare to advance to the next objective.”
“How is Charlemagne doing? I hear, he’s still trying to get off the Isipezi Road, ha ha”, asks Richelieu, mockingly.
“Don’t be worrying about it. Handle your business, Charlemagne will handle his”, responds Napoleon.
“Understood, but we’re supposed to meet up in Cheju, to start the “March to Seoul. What if he’s still fighting for Kaesong?”
“He won’t be. Now prepare for the Battle of Cheju. It is very important, as Cheju is the gateway, to the heart of the beast”, responds Napoleon. Napoleon is very happy about the progress form the front. More happy are the people of France, when they hear of the “liberation.” Celebrations break out, with chants of, “Larsa is Ours”, “Cheju, Kaesong you are Next.”
IBT: Breaking News: the war continues to widen. Aztlan and China announce an alliance against Russia. Aztecs declare war on Russia. This is more symbolic than anything. The Aztecs are very, very far away from Russia. However, it is a concern to us, as we share a continent with the Aztecs. If they can ally against Russia, then they can ally against us.
Back in the North Atlantique, another Chinese Ironclad shows up and begins to bombard one of our Submarines. Unfortunately, our Sub was at periscope level, doing reconnaissance, when it was struck in the torpedo room. A massive explosion follows and water immediately flows in. All the sailors are lost. Napoleon makes sure, that everyone of their families, receive the “Légion d’Honneur”, for bravery and courage at sea. “France, cris pour vous, jeunes marins.”
Regrettably, our troubles at sea continue, as we lose another group of Submariners. This time at the hands of a Korean Sub, in the South Atlantique. Our men were not prepared, as the Koreans sneaked in, from behind their rudders. The blast woke everyone up, but it was too late, to do anything about it. The news is shocking to Admiral Yanne, as both Subs were part of his South Fleet.
On the road to Kaesong, Korean Guerrillas and Infantry attack, our Tanks and Infantry . A fierce battle arises, as our Tanks are left immobile, in the small patch of desert. The Korean Infantry makes a head charge, but is soundly cut down. The Guerrillas on the other hand, score successful hits on our Tanks, as an entire company is lost. It is the first time, one of our Tank companies have gotten destroyed, in combat. We fear it is only the beginning, and more casualties are expected. This is certainly NOT, the Babylonian War.
Also, the major Korean force of (6 longbow, 2 Inf, 2 Med Inf, Warr, Spear) brigades seen before, now make their intentions known. They move onto the Mugabe Mountains and directly, threaten our Workers. It appears, they are going to go after the Isipezi Road. What they don’t know, is that they are just moving, within our Artillery range. Further south, 5 more Korean brigades, mostly consisting of Guerrillas, move toward Larsa. Richelieu is prepared for them there however, and pretty soon, there will be Tanks arriving, at least that‘s what Napoleon said.

This story is bang on!! I love the way you elaborate on seemingly minor details for example finding an abandoned ironclad in the harbour then having the marines set charges and blowing it sky high, excellent and very enjoyable to read. Well done.A proud member of the "Apolyton Story Writers Guild".There are many great stories at the Civ 3 stories forum, do yourself a favour and visit the forum. Hi!
During the Larsa Landing, our Marines faced off against 2 Spearmen brigades. It is a really weird trying to describe battles, between assault rifles and spears. So from now on, I will refer to Ancient Era units as, “Enemy Combatants, Conscripts, Iraqis in a pick-up truck, or something else.” However, in the Casualty Reports, the list will contain the Ancient units that are annihilated.
Back to the Story:
1260
In the North Atlantique, the Battleship M.N. Bretagne, takes revenge on the Chinese Ironclad. We sail at high speed, until the silhouette is made out. Round after round, is unfurled, by the big guns on our ship. The Ironclad attempts to escape, but our range is long and the men on the Battleship cheer, as they see the Ironclad shatter, under our bombardment. “Death onto you, China”, shout many of our sailors. In the South Atlantique however, we cannot see where the Korean killer Sub went, but they’ll get theirs in due time.
A huge shipment of Tanks, arrive to support the front, at the port of Cherbourg. Richelieu is now very happy, as he receives 6 whole Tank companies. With our two armies marching on, Napoleon orders Gen. Pasteur, “to divide the Air Force into two groups, to support each of our Generals.” During all this time, our factories in France, have been pumping out Tanks, Fighters, Bombers and naval vessels. The Air Force is now large enough, to provide air cover, for both of our army groups.
The large group of Koreans, in the mountains, are protected from our Tanks. They are on rugged, road-less Mountains and our Tanks are incapable, of advancing on them. To solve this problem, Napoleon orders the Noire Pluie, “start airlifting our own Guerrilla fighters, to mop up the enemy on the mountains. I want the most experience brigades, trained in Mountain warfare, to be sent to the front. The Noire Pluie Guerrillas are organized differently, than the Army. There was no one General, instead each brigade operated independently, under different commanders. One such commander, is a highly regarded fighter by the name Charles De Gaulle.
“The Way of organization is uniting their courage, making the best of the strong and the weak through the principles of Ground. Therefore, one who is skilled in warfare leads them by the hand like they are one person; they cannot but follow.” (tzu)
The story of De Gaulle:
De Gaulle was born to a poor family, in Lille. At the young age of 13, he ran away from home and found himself living, on the streets of Rusicade. By age 15, he had hooked up with the Carthaginian Mafia, in Rusicade and became the muscle, for one of the leading syndicates. He was the most feared and respected wise guy on the streets. Unfortunately, his rackets and the police caught up to him. He was sentenced for racketeering, but there in prison, he was sought out by the Noire Pluie agents.
There, the Noire Pluie gave him a choice, “Serve your prison sentence, or serve your nation and gain your freedom.” The choice was easy, De Gaulle chose, “freedom and France.” He was sent into the Army for proper training, but once his initial tour was over, the Noire Pluie took control. He was sent to rough paramilitary training grounds, where his instructors would routinely, savagely beat him. The beatings are meant to toughen up the militants, as the Noire Pluie only accepts the toughest, vindictive people into their Guerrilla Brigades.
De Gaulle made it through the training camps, a hardened cold, steel eyed individual. His will, is stronger than any beating. He impressed everybody and quickly moved up the chain, in the Paramilitary-Noire Pluie. An expert in mountain warfare tactics, he was now sent to the Mugabe Mountains, to deal unmerciful pain to the Koreans. He is eager to go, as he is without a doubt, born to kill.
Back in the front, Charlemagne orders his force, “move into Korean territory, and get within range, for the final thrust to Kaesong.” On the road to Kaesong, there are 2 Korean enemy combatant brigades. Charlemagne tells the Tank commanders to, “take no prisoners. Waste everyone and advance, always advance.” The Tank companies follow the orders directly, and move in to combat the Koreans. A hail of smoke erupts, as our guns let loose, an awesome barrage of firepower. Some of the Koreans begin to surrender, but we ain’t having it. This is TOTAL WAR.
Charlemagne’s forces, cross into Korean territory for the first time and are now within striking distance of Kaesong. To the north of Kaesong, our 3 Cavs, who went through Celtic territory, have also arrived. Word gets sent through to Napoleon, “We are now inside the Kaesong perimeter, there is no resistance visible yet. I think they’re shocked, because of our speed”, says a confident Charlemagne. Detailed information is sent to Napoleon, about Charlemagne’s forces in the Kaesong region, including the air cover being provided by Gen. Pasteur of the Air Force;
Charlemagne’s Forces:
9 Tanks
3 Cavalries
2 Infantry
2 Artillery
Air Cover, provided from air base in Zunguin:
10 Bombers
1 Fighters
Meanwhile, back in Larsa, Richelieu finally receives his Tanks. Before the attack on Cheju can be launched, the Korean enemy brigades outside Larsa must be defeated. Richelieu orders his Tanks to start taking out the enemy positions. We set our sights on the poorly trained conscripts and Guerrilla brigades. 6 Bomber squads take off from Amatikulu and begin to drop massive bombs, on the Korean troops. The Bombers provide much needed assistance, as we hear the Koreans scream, “Death from Above.” Our Tanks finish the decrepit Koreans off. Information about Richelieu’s forces in the Larsa region are also handed over to Napoleon;
Richelieu’s Forces:
6 Tanks
5 Cavalries
3 Infantry
2 Marines
Air Cover, provided from air base in Amatikulu:
6 Bombers
1 Fighters
On the Isipezi Road, Napoleon has 4 Workers, feverishly laying down the rails. He has taken command, of a significant group of soldiers. Most are Artillery companies, which are continually pounding the snot, out of the Koreans, fortified in the mountains. Napoleon has promised that, “once the Noire Pluie Guerrillas eliminate the threat, on the Mugabe Mountains, the Artillery companies will be released, to the Generals. It is Napoleon’s job to protect the Workers and his force consist of;
Napoleon’s Forces:
2 Tanks
1 Cavalries
5 Infantry
9 Artillery
There is no official air cover for Napoleon’s forces. However , bombing runs from both air wings, are occurring.
“What enables the enlightened rulers and good generals to conquer the enemy at every move and achieve extraordinary success is foreknowledge. Foreknowledge cannot be elicited from ghosts and spirits; it cannot be inferred from comparison of previous events, or from the calculations of the heavens, but must be obtained from people who have knowledge of the enemy's situation.” (tzu)
While Napoleon shifts the numbers around in his head, about our entire military in operation, he is still upset about, our lack of current info, on the Korean military. Our spies were uncovered some time ago and a second attempt to infiltrate Korea, failed miserably, as moles from inside France gave them up. But good news appears on the horizon, as the D.G.S.E. Director Bonnard, informs Napoleon about an ambitious plan, to once again place spies in Korea.
“One of our agents in Madrid, has gotten to a Korean girl working in the Korean Embassy, there in Madrid. We believe she can obtain secret files, pertaining to the current Korean military force.”
“Excellent. But before approving, I need details regarding this operation.”
“It basically consist of files being copied and taken out of the building”, says Bonnard.
“Not good enough, I need more details”, an excited Napoleon demands.
“Fine, here is how it’s going to go down. We’re calling in a bomb threat, forcing everyone out of the building. Our Korean girl, however, will not leave. There should be sufficient time, for all important documents to be copied and then transferred out of the Embassy.”
“How will the documents be transferred out?”, asks a thrilled Napoleon.
“I guess she’ll just walk out of there, with the copied documents in her briefcase.”
“What? Just like that! There is going to be heavy security, after the bomb threat. This could go horribly wrong.”
“Horribly wrong? Not for us. We’ll just get our agent out of Madrid and as far as the embassy worker goes,…...too bad, she ain’t French anyway.”
“You’re right. This is, a win-win situation. You have my permission Bonnard, commence operation…..”
“Operation Sortilège, sir”, answers Bonnard, as he completes Napoleon’s sentence.
The operation is set for a warm, overcast Tuesday. Tuesday is chosen, because it is the most boring day of the work week, most people‘s senses are way off, on this day. Mondays suck, but that’s what makes them special. Wednesday is the hump of the week. Thursday, excitement reigns as the weekend approaches. And Fridays, plans for the weekend are exchange. But Tuesday, nothing happens and nobody expects anything to happen, that‘s why your senses are dulled.
Espionage Mission - Operation Sortilège:
On a dog-day Tuesday, our D.G.S.E. agent known only as “Luc” meets with his recruited Korean embassy worker, known only as “Sue.” It is 600 hour and at a café in Madrid, Luc preps Sue about the mission;
“When you walk out of the Embassy with our documents, don’t look at anybody directly at their eyes. But don’t look away either. Try to be cool and calm. And remember, we need all documents showing the numbers, for the Korean military.”
“I know what to do. I’m just worried about getting caught”, answers Sue, as she takes a sip from her coffee.
“Nah, you’ll be okay. They won’t suspect a thing. But just in case take this”, Luc pulls out a stiletto and hands it to Sue. “Aim for the heart, it will drop them immediately.”
Sue now heads to work and the morning passes by, like a normal, boring Tuesday should. Then one hour after lunch, Sue precedes to head out of her office and into the mechanical room. She waits there and then hears the deafening, earsplitting alarm sound. The bomb threat, has now been called in. Hiding in the mechanical room, she can hear some of her co-workers say, “It’s those f-ing French, I know it is.” As the building clears, she steps out to complete her task. Then a sudden realization comes over her. She is about to betray her Korean nation, for a man.
She makes her way, onto the offices of the Ambassador, when she notices the sprinklers are turned on and water is gushing, from the ceiling. “Why the hell are the sprinklers on”, she thinks, as her heart now begins to pump at an increasing pace. She makes her way through the water sprinkled office, now extremely wet and ransacks the Ambassador’s office, looking for the official military documents. She finds them and quickly heads into the copy room. By now the sprinklers have stopped, and the duplication of the most important documents are made. The people return to the building and Sue quickly hides the papers, in her briefcase.
It is 1600 hour now, and it is time for Sue to walk out. She has been quiet the whole day to avoid attention, nobody even noticed her soaked hair, after walking through the sprinklers. Nervously, her heart begins to pulsate rapidly, as she grabs her briefcase and heads for the exits. She notices two Korean guards at the doors, whom are asking everyone who leaves, questions. She feels a lump on her throat and decides to divert to a nearby, water fountain .
Thoughts of her being captured and tortured, race through her mind. There is only one final step left, getting through the exits. She decides to just do it. The point of no return arrives, as she approaches the exit doors. The pressure increases tenfold, her mouth dries up, her breathing stops, as if she is having an asthma attack and her walk becomes more of a stumble. She looks directly at the guards almost staring, then looks away, as her head moves down, avoiding any eye contact. One embassy guard, notices the pale look on her face and asks;
“What’s in here?”, as he points to her briefcase.
“Umm, what?”, she struggles to say.
“In here, your briefcase. What’s in it?”, the guard says now fully irritated, after a long day at work.
“Oh that, they’re just work related stuff”, Sue responds, in a trembling voice.
“I see, but why are you so nervous.”
“I’m not nervous. I’ll open the briefcase if you want”, she speaks without thinking.
“So open it!”, orders one guard, as another guard hears the commotion and approaches.
“What’s the problem here?”, the other guard asks.
“She’s giving me trouble. So I just asked her to open up her briefcase.”
Cursing herself, for offering to open the briefcase, Sue now slowly and methodically opens the briefcase. As the cover is pulled up, she realizes that the secret documents, were just put in there, without any effort to conceal them, inside her briefcase.
“What is all that?”, the second guard asks.
“They’re just meaningless papers from work. I’m bringing them home, to work on them.”, Sue says now feeling her heart in her throat.
The first annoyed guard, ruffles through the papers and says out loud, “this looks suspicious! I‘m going to call the Security Director.”
Exactly, what Sue didn’t want to hear. She thinks about running right at that moment. But thinks, “where would I run? Where would I hide? What am I thinking, I can’t outrun these guards.“ And then, she remembers the stiletto, in her pocket. “Can I really kill these two guards, there just doing their job”, thoughts race through her mind. “But their job is to catch me. I have to do something” She reaches down in her pocket, grabs the stiletto, begins to bring it up, when…………………....the second guards says;
“Nah, don’t call anybody, it’s just stupid work papers, nothing suspicious here. Let her through.”
Like watching your team score the winning goal, like receiving everything you asked for in Christmas, like being pardoned from death row, Sue has received a new leash on life. Grinning from ear to ear she says, “Thanks a lot” and leaves the embassy, with the secret documents in her briefcase, on the Korean military numbers. Bonnard relays a message to Napoleon, “Oh yeah, we now have someone spying on Korea.” The documents make their way back to Paris, where Napoleon reviews them, they are as follows:
Korean Military - current up to date information.
Army:
63 Infantry/ Spearmen
4 Cavalries
7 Artillery/ Hwach’a
Paramilitary:
12 Guerrillas/ Longbow, etc.
8 Terrorists
Special Ops:
1 Marines
Navy:
1 Submarines
3 Destroyers
2 Ironclads
1 Assault Ships (transports)
1 Galleys
We realize that the Koreans have no Air Force whatsoever, even worse is their complete lack of a Navy, considering they have a large number of coastal cities."The Pershing Gulf War began when Satan Husane invaided Kiwi and Sandy Arabia. This was an act of premedication."

IBT:
War widens even more: Napoleon in Versailles gets the message early in the summer morning, from his Foreign Minister:
“I’ve got some harrowing news, about the Chinese, to tell you Mr. President”, says the F.M.
“Spill it, I want to know everything.”
“The Greeks have allied with China and declared war on Russia.”
Napoleon cuts the F.M. off and says, “We don’t care about that, that’s not so harrowing.”
“I wasn’t done, sir. The Chinese have also brought in the Japanese in an alliance. However, this time, the alliance is against us.”, spoke the F.M. in a most disturbing voice.
“I think, I understand now”
“Treacherous Japan, has formed an alliance with China against us. We are now at war, with Japan.”
“Grrrrrrr, they’re going to pay for this. Just wait, they’ll be sorry for going up against powerful, mighty France.
Japan is one of the 5 nations on the Feminin Continent, to the northeast of France and across the North and South Iroquoian Oceans. (On the 1240 World Map, Japan is the Maroon color on the South-East portion of the continent. They are halfway between France and China.)
Back in the North Atlantique, where most of our naval battles have been occurring, the Battleship M.N. Bretagne, is attacked by a joint operation, between the Chinese and Korean navies. One of our nearby Subs, is able to spot the Korean Sub, heading toward our Battleship. The captain on the Bretagne is informed and orders depth charges, to be dropped at various levels. At the same time, a Chinese Destroyer approaches the Battleship and unleashes a barrage of anti-ship missiles.
The Korean Sub, maneuvers around the charges and takes aim with their torpedoes, striking the Bretagne critically. The Bretagne is at full emergency alert, the men fire back at the Destroyer, as the Chinese missiles land and hit our radio tower, which burst into flames. The sailors manning the guns, can see their fellow men, run out in flames. Everyone is now furious and quite repulsed. Then suddenly, we see an inferno come out, from under the water. It is the Korean Sub, the men scream in happiness, for just a moment.
Before being blown to bits, the Sub threw out a fury of torpedoes, which struck the engine room of our ship. A massive explosion followed, as many of our sailors, jumped into the cold waters of the North Atlantique. Meanwhile, the Chinese Destroyer was still pounding the Bretagne, with their guns and missiles. The death blow, came about 45 minutes after the battle first commenced. The Destroyer ended the pain and the suffering of our sailors, when they finally burst the Bretagne and sunk it.
Over a thousand sailors on the Bretagne, perished at sea. It is now very clear, that Napoleon and the Admirals, badly miscalculated, the Chinese route for attack. Instead of coming from the East, they are coming from the West. The South Fleet has been hit hard and continues to get hit hard, while the North Fleet sits calmly, in the North Iroquoian Ocean.
“If you take care of your health, avoid fatigue, you will be united, and will build strength. When
moving troops and calculating plans, be formless. Throw your troops into situations where there is no escape, where they will die before escaping. When they are about to die, what can they not do? They will exert their full strength.” (tzu)
While the M.N. Bretagne sinks, in the Korean front near the cities of Larsa and Kaesong, a major Korean offensive is also taking place;
The Grassland Assault:
Within striking distance of Kaesong, we have 5 Tank companies, and 1 Infantry brigade. A little further away, we have 4 Tank companies and 2 Infantry brigades. Our Tank crews rest outside, as they prepare for what is to be their first experience, in urban warfare. It is however, not the best defensive place to rest, as we are in the grasslands, nestled in between the Mugabe Mountains and the Gulf of Korea. We know the Koreans are on those Mountains, but still the men feel secure enough, to relax. As soon as the sun sets, some of our troops, begin to take naps inside their Tanks. They are tired, as the road to Kaesong was a long, bumpy ride.
The sun is now fully set, and most of our men are sleeping. Suddenly everyone is woken to the first shots and explosions. “RAT, TAT, TAT-----BOOOOOM”, the Korean made AK’s light up the night sky, as well as, some of our exploded Tanks. A massive force of Korean Guerrillas, Infantry and Cavalries confront our Tank crews. Charlemagne listens to the radio communications and chills run down his spine, “They’re all over. From the mountains, from Kaesong, there’s too many of them!!!”, as explosions and gunfire are heard in the background.
“Hold your positions, you hear me. Hold at all cost”, replies Charlemagne.
“THEY’RE KILLING US. CAN’T YOU HEAR. THEY’RE KILLING US!”, a frantic Tank commander yells, horrified.
“Your orders are to hold. HOOOOOOOLD!!!”, Charlemagne fires back.
The Tank commander no longer responds and all Charlemagne can hear from the radio, is a long terrifying scream, from one of the soldiers in some tank, “AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHH!!!!!!!!”
But still, our Tanks fight back heroically, as well as our Infantry. The initial attack left a Tank company destroyed, as the Guerrillas deceitfully launched RPG’s into our turrets. The men inside were defenseless, as grenades were thrown, inside their hatch. A Calvary brigade would follow, but this time our Tanks were ready. We shelled the bastards along with their horses. War is hell.
Just when we thought it was over, the biggest battle of the night began. The most hardened of Korean troops were sent in. Infantry and Guerrillas faced of, with our Tanks. From the mountains, the Koreans marched down, with their rifles blazing. From the grasslands in front of us, Guerrillas viciously move in, through our established perimeter. The Koreans breached our lines and armed with anti-Tank missiles, lay waste to many of our Tanks. Some Tanks high-tailed it and escaped, but most fought on ferociously.
Slowly but surely, our Tanks begin to extrude our revenge. One by one, small groups of Korean troops are blasted by our big guns, as we begin to outmaneuver them. In the midst of our exploding Tanks, we are able to beat back, the Korean Guerrillas. Also the Korean Infantry, is battered into oblivion. Unlike the Guerrillas, the Infantry are not able to escape, into the mountains. The final battle, resulted in 2 more Tank companies destroyed on our side. For the Koreans, the bodies of 2 Infantry brigades, were left strewn on the grasslands. No proper burial, was given to this scum, instead we threw their corpses into the Gulf. “Let the sharks, have a go at them”, said one of our troops.
It was a very tough battle, with many losses. However, we are still in control of the grasslands and within striking distance of Kaesong. The experience of the battle, known as the “Grassland Assault”, will prove to be invaluable, for our your Tank crews. Most of the Tank companies, which survived the assault, are now hardened Elite soldiers. They are eager now, to begin the attack on Kaesong, to avenge their lost brothers. “Payback, is all that awaits the Koreans”, says Charlemagne to his Colonels in the front.
The Larsa Counter-Attack:
In Larsa, Richelieu’s forces also come under attack. Guerrillas advance on the city, in massive numbers from the desert, in the west. They have good intelligence, as some of the citizens in Larsa, are giving out our troop positions. They approach our barricades and our Infantry opens fire. The battle is fierce, but our Infantry, begin to lose the initiative. One Infantry brigade, is immediately overwhelmed and they get overrun by the Guerrillas. More Infantry are sent in, to battle the Koreans, but they still, can’t beat back the attackers.
The barricades are breached, as our second Infantry brigade, gets beaten down in the fire-fight. The Guerrillas are now in control, of a small western portion of the town. Richelieu, quickly sends in the Marines, to retake the neighborhood. House to house combat begins, as the Koreans are spotted, inside civilian homes. Backing the Marines, are our newly shipped Tanks. With overwhelming power, we eliminate the Guerrillas in Larsa and take full control of the neighborhood. We lost 2 Infantry brigades and killed 1 Korean Guerrilla brigade.
A full report of all the battles on land and at sea, are given to Napoleon. He can only shake his head in horror, as he realizes that, we haven’t yet even begun, the “March to Seoul.” The level of anger, elevates in France, as the news reports, of dead French soldiers are heard. Soon the bodies will arrive, which will further enflame, our people.
The end of the war, is no where in sight and everyone in France knows it will be long, miserable and extremely tough. The “Mother of all Wars”, has officially arrived.

Good, an almost even battle. Keep the battle reports coming! Also, the part about the nervous embassy chick was so real I almost involuntarily took out a K-bar knife to defend myself with.
I wanna see the koreans get butchered!!!Here is an interesting scenario to check out. The Vietnam war is cool.
