I got an important statement to make:

I have been talking to my father, El grande padre del Plagiãtes,
,the dictatõre henchmen, and the government representative.
We have come to an agreement.

Our family-clan will not hire these mercenaries, and leave all control of armed forces to the dictatõre, Señor Togas.
The Plagiãtes apologizes for the inconvenience the merc.leasers might have had, and we hereby pledge our allegiance to the Spanish nation under his dictatorship, the beefeater grande Señor Togas...

      Yours, Pedro Peligroso.

Does Togas wield so much fear into yee hearts? Are not the Mercenary forces among you supported by his lordship Togas himself? To abstain from the hiring of mercenaries is breaking your regions law, is it not?

The storm gods are the gods of our region. If you lived here you would understand. It has taken the might of an entire tribe to survive in the wilderness whence we came. They instruct our elders and scholars on the biddings of the gods, and have taught us their ways.

Why must this noble thread degrade into an rp thread?

The only thing that was harmed is the honour of my familia grande, the Plagiãtes clan. We have not yet brought down the fury of the demons and the black plaguespirits.
            Our religion demands only repentment.

On the earthly side we have been offered protection by Señor Togas' Guardia Civile, and are obedient to the dicator.
Yesterday, we reestablished our honour with a traditional corporal punishment of the family member who sent the invoice. He is now repenting and crying.

To Señor Panzer: I really appreciate your offer,
and we wanted to hire these brave men.
            I changed my mind, though.
Well, perhaps later in the game someone will?

Sorry Panzer, I think there was a roleplay bubble there that just had to burst.

Ah, Panzer, were you the kid in kindargarten who got scolded at during painting class simply because you couldnt think of anything to paint? Poor uncreative kids... all they need was some kind of inspiration..

                  [roleplay]
Anyway, Meshellic your gods sound mighty awesome. They must be really gracious toward your people, nurturing, guiding and sheltering them. Know this, our god (invincible light) is just as well mighty and strong. He is also just. I am not here to compare our god with yours, but keep this in mind if any rotten-minded population of GoS ever try to convince your nation to caus malice toward us! Our god will bring swift justice to all evil minded.

                    [RP]

Sitting around a mighty blazing fire with men who have journeyed afar from distant lands, Meshelic recants the tale of how his people were given the mighty mountains, hills, plains and grasslands of Stormcountry, how the gods themselves came down from their clouds and proclaimed the land of the gods as the land of the Gathering Storm.

"Since the dawn of our tribe, the gods have watched us, tutored us, and helped us grow as a culture. It is to them that we owe everything," Meshelic spoke. As he spoke the lightning struck in the distance behind the great mountains far away, and the sound of the thunder rolled over the hills and echoed through the valleys, to the ears of all who listened around the fire. Meshelic gazed to the sky where the lightning flashed, and the wind howled it's approval.

The rest of the party shuffled uneasily, clutching their animalskin hides closer for warmth. Meshelic turned to the rest and smiled. "Those are the Storm Wraiths. Fear them not, unless they are coming after you. They are traveling now, for they ride the lightning to wherever it pleases them to go."

A peace and quietness settled over the party. "We must go, for our work is not yet finished here. The gods have decreed that we must keep on the move, and enlighten the rest of the nations to our presence." And with the blink of the eye, Meshelic left the Glory of War lands to reunite with his fellow ambassadors, sent afar.

No just playing around. The Glory of War by their name alone assumes a rather threatening stance towards the other nations, so when realpolitic basically says that because the GoW is WILLING to keep agreements that it is LIKELY that they will keep their word, it just sounds interesting worded that way.

WILLING sounds like a better word in this case for : "don't want to but probably have to".

                            Just thought that was interesting.

Nah, think about it. If the Glory's means to sucsess has become a merc role, it suddenly become our best interest to be trust worthy. If we break even one conrtact, none of you would trust us to make another one.

That brings up the ages old question, "who trusts mercenaries?" By their definition, mercenaries only serve money, and thus serve the owner of the money. Should the money run out for some reason, then that servitude is gone.

So basically.....you are can be trusted as long as you get paid. That's my surmation.

And don't worry, I'm just carrying out the conversation, I really don't know if you GoW types can be trusted or not, maybe you can, maybe not. You'll have to convince the GS ambassador of that yourselves. I was just pointing out a potential flaw in your trust theory.
