Infogrames and Firaxis announced officially the development of Civ3:PtW

"We're thrilled with the reception our fans around the world have given Civilization® III," said Sid Meier, co-founder of FIRAXIS Games. "They love Civ III and they are telling us they want more -- more interesting civilizations to play, the ability to play with their friends, and a chance to create their own unique Civilization worlds. We've listened and we're giving them all of that, plus much more."

The press release mentions this fall as the release date for Civilization 3: Play the World.

Actually, that is a pretty decent set of features. I might even play this, but I can assure you that I will never spend a dime of my money on a Firaxis product again.

All of this stuff should have been in the original release.

Mark, please don't have a stroke.

perhaps in a similar(but easier) way to using a terrain mod?

My reaction? I've spent three minutes running around the house and screaming. Damn good! Hey, I said that the turnless mode is NOT simlateneous turn mode, it's different! Yay! I so much want to MP Civ 3...

                          Airfields & such great.

Auto-bombard - should be good, as well as stacking.

Editor - why not ehnance it .

                          Scenarios - who cares.

                            Good. I like it.

Three special thumbs-up: MP (doh!), a complete editor (doh! again, but we'll have to see how "complete" it is), and unit stacking (finally!).

One doubt: "Capture The Flag" in Civ3?

One thumb-down: Only next Fall! But I suppose it is necessary, and even so I think we'll see some post-XP patches ...
I watched you fall. I think I pushed.
