Well, I am still giving Firaxis some time for them to fix the patch properly. Jesse mentioned that they (Firaxis) should hopefulyl have a new patch released later on this week.
I thought that we had already discussed holding off on upgrading for a little bit longer...but evidently some people are just impatient. All my other PBEM games (are there are quite a few), have agreed to wait for a week or so before upgrading. I will not upgrade just for this game and have all of my other games come to a screeching halt because of it....and yes, I know that I can copy directories around and have the game installed more than once on my system, but do not want to use this type of bandaid-fix for the patch problem.
We agreed to wait and that's what I'm doing to do.
There is no tactful way of saying this, so I will be blunt: If everyone doesn't like waiting for a week to upgrade - hopefully less if Firaxis releases a working patch....well, either live with it or find a replacement for me.

Paddy sent me an email explaining how to copy the folders in the new directory.
Done. It seems to work. But I do hate those black city views at the beginning of the turn.
