Incidently, anyone here read the Alpha Centauri books? I'm up to the third one and I must say, they have been quite good. A nice surprise.
If I determine the enemy's disposition of forces while I have no percerptible form, I can concentrate my forces while the enemy is fragmented. The pinnacle of military deployment approaches the formless: if it is formless, then even the deepest spy cannot discern it nor the wise make plans against it.

Daedalus, I haven't read the AC books. What are their strong points? Are the characters well fleshed out?

Michael Ely is the author. Just finished the last one. It ends quite surprisingly, I have to say.

It focuses on the faction leaders as far as characters go. They're decent reading- not the best books ever written, but a good sci-fi page turner. They really capture the feel of the game well.
