    Change it! Change it!

Bah. You all need to fear my mighty warrior unit!
If I determine the enemy's disposition of forces while I have no percerptible form, I can concentrate my forces while the enemy is fragmented. The pinnacle of military deployment approaches the formless: if it is formless, then even the deepest spy cannot discern it nor the wise make plans against it.

I forgot to mention that I can't play on Thursdays. With luck, the turn won't come around to me on Thursdays very often.

I don't mind to continue, either.

About the workaround: I'll try to find it (I'm not very sure where I saw it, but I know somebody who I can ask). However, hopefully they will fix it in the next oatch, so there won't be a problem anymore.

Btw, since we didn't encounter problems until now, it seems that everybody is on 1.14f We forgot to check it before we started the game.

My classes were cancelled this afternoon because of the students' physical examinations. Turn played and sent!

                3900 to daedalus.

I'd be in favor of a restart, if only for the slight chance this glitch is a sign of other hidden problems. I don't know much about it, though.

It's a known glitch... It doesn't lead to other problems, nor is it a sign of them.

                      turn.

The difficulty bug is also present for hotseat. Any news on the workaround, if only for future reference?

Looking after the difficulty workaround now.

                            Chieftain bug workaround

OK, I've asked a friend who set up a game for us some time ago, and here's what he did to avoid the "reset to chieftain" bug:

He installed a 1.01f version of PtW on a second computer (you can do it of course on the same computer, not necesarily a different one, but then you have to do it every time you start a game) and started (set up) the game on that computer. That's all. The rest of the turns you play with a normal 1.14f version (and the rest of the players, too).
So it is a one time use of a 1.01f install, for setting up the game.

that might be difficult- the version that ships here in australia is 1.14f on the cd.

Well, for this game let's stay on chieftain.
As for future games: either you ask someone else to set it up (someone with 1.01f) or you pray that the next patch will arrive shortly and will fix the problem
