(And if you are fighting an AI that has obsolete units, it is time to move up a difficulty level or two. )

As to the Cold War save, it is the one I played last time. Sending again to Beta. The date should change between Mickeyj (July) and Moonbars (August or thereabouts, I do not recall the time settings for this scenario).
The windows install is totally fresh win XP SP2. There is nothing wrong with the system, it's just a poorly written graphics engine in CIV. I played my first games on the level that gives the AI no "bonuses", and it is just as bad as the old III AI. no progress at all.

    • This is a difficult PBEM. You all realize we started this in February 2005 and we've played only nine turns? Yes, I went back and counted.

Anyway, I've resent my last save to Mickeyj (I know that's its good and it's the last one I played). The date I sent is July 1962. Mickeyj is the last human in the play order, so he should send Moonbars (top of the order) September 1962.

Then we can start turn ten. This pace is almost exactly one turn a month. With so many units, I can't even remember which units I sent where and why.... Each time I open the save it's like I'm looking at everything for the first time. /rant off

      • and yes, I'm going to start complaining about this in every post in this thread. I don't think we should have to rely on Modo44 to push us every single time our turn is up.

Sorry if I'm being a jerk - but that's what the internet does to people. I'm really a decent guy in person. Then again, if you all met me in person, we would just do a LAN game or hotseat and get this game done in a few hours It might be worth it to pay for your plane tickets to Washington DC just to do that

Funny, I thought you were being quite nice given the "speed" of this game.
          Seriously. Kung freaking fu.

            Speed (sped) n.

            Swiftness of action.
            1. The act of moving rapidly.
            2. The state of being in rapid motion; rapidity.

            quotes are appropriate.

I agree. A faster pace would be nice. This game has interesting possibilities. I think one turn every 5 days is reasonable to expect. Each person gets a day to play the turn.
