I feel like the Romans, barbarian invasions are pressing my borders. Hordes of horsemen to the south, hordes of warriors to the north, though the north doesn't worry me, who is scared of barb warriors.

                Sent to Aqua.

the change of era triggered that. although my warriors were covering every single tile of FoW, i missed 1 single one... where i now have had dozens of spawned barbarian horsemen. furtunatly, C3C barbarians are pussies ;I

Horsies spawned just right to hit an elite warrior forted in a city. one horseman left in that stack (one more big one) and my elite warrior left with one hp, hoping to survive to fight again another day.

I've got a stack of about 20 Horsies covering a spot on my island too. I have 3 Archers taking their time picking them off

looks like some elites-generation going on on most islands

I think I'd take the Pyrs over Ag with this start, but I'd certainly say I'm in the second-best shoes.

Ok then.....I'll make my case for being the most deprived and destitute civ on this earth!

With my start and terrain I would definitely prefer to have Agr and water than the Pyramids. With the Pyramids and no water, I have a a maximum food surplus of 2 in any town (excluding the one meagre Cow bonus I have). This gives a best-case growth rate of 5 turns, excluding Settlers/Workers. Add to this the fact that I have a limited number of Grassland tiles, and I am reduced to building Harbours to get the pop up to 6, which of course means a large proportion of my worked tiles will have no shield produciton, which makes Aqueducts difficult to build - remember, without a single water source, I need Aqueducts in EVERY city!

Remember also, the Pyramids don't help me in settling other islands. Add to that - my closest Iron resource is half a world away and will be under someone else's control anyway.

So bottom line is.....the Pyramids has only managed to keep me in this game. Without it I would be toast!

                              So.....roll on Invention

i have about 40 tiles of grassland.... once i cut the jungle and clear the wetlands

the rest is mainly plains... and irrigating plains is quite tedious. :sigh: , i'm dreaming of a great leader
