                • Emperor Shirakawa died last summer. Shortly before his death, he summoned Daimyo Ljube of the Oda clan to Kyoto and ordered him to defeat Daimyo Modo of the Hojo clan and compel him to commit suicide, or die trying.

Since Emperor Shirakawa is now dead, there is nobody who can revoke that order, hence Oda must keep attacking.

Funny, I thought the new Emperor can do that.

                      • You managed to hurt me, but you still have to break my back, it seems. Should I be worried about the quiet on the Oda&Miyoshi front?

                        Great game so far.

Yes. You should be worried. New Emperor Toba who succeeded late Emperor Shirakawa ordered a full scale attack on Hojo ronin clan.

In spite of terrible losses the fanatical monks of the Oda clan kept attacking the Hojo stronghold of Otawara until they managed to capture it. Later investigation of the battlefield showed 14 Oda vet monks dead and 3 more wounded while the Hojo clan lost one grandmaster monk, one grandmaster samurai archer and one vet samurai archer.

Enraged by the losses suffered at Otawara, Daimyo Ljube ordered a punitive strike on the Hojo city of Kumagaya. He charged his elite ninja formations with the task of sacking that city. He chose the formation wisely as defence of Kumagaya proved tougher then expected. Four ninja masters were lost, but the city changed hands and is now under the firm grip of the Oda clan, much to Emperor Toba's merriment.
