I have just had the most fascinating experience. Our tribe contacted a new nation recently. They call themselves Portuguese and they have a strange religion, one based on worshiping a dead carpenter. Still, they are resourceful people. They have mastered a strange substance called gunpowder. It is rumoured that lethal weapons can be made that use this substance. So far the Portuguese have been distrustful and haven't shown us how to use this gunpowder, let alone make it. But I am sure they will in time. After all, we have so much to offer in exchange for this knowledge. Perhaps a royal audience might overwhelm them and persuade them to share this knowledge with us. I shall endeavour to arrange an audience with Emperor Toba in Kyoto.Comment

yes that be true
if not for the Hojo my people would not be in the positions that they be in today
also it must be tuely noted that all of the massive infrastructure that the Hojo left behind has been greatly utilized
right down to the city placements
