*NOTICE* ... Greece and Rome have parted from the path of Peace. Their mutual nonaggression pact was cancelled at the Greek request ten years ago, to take effect 275BC. As the Romans immediately put galleys into Greek waters at 275bc, the Greek were forced to TAKE ACTION ...
A Combat Report ... dudududuhhhhh ...
Greek Galleys report victories over two roman galleys, with one greek loss. Both surviving Greek galleys report partial damage. Due to several miscalculations, leading to the Greek loss, the Commander in Chief has refused to award Elite promotions to either of the surviving Veteran galleys. More concise movements and precise aiming of weapons are expected of such Veteran units.
Seems that the Greeks were ready to strike at the peace loving Romans as soon as they had the chance, how is it that the Romans are the agressor when the evil Greeks have landed a huge expeditionary force on the toe of the fine Italian peninsila. Romes great armies are poised and ready to destroy the barbarian invaders.
Akulianaius Americanius, Imperator.
Avenger of Troy.

PS: Turn sent.
The Greeks are referring to the fact that two Roman galleys had crossed into Greek territory immediately upon the end of the cease-fire. That overt act of aggression forced our hand and required us to act in a war-like manner. Only a nation weak in body and in mind would not be able to mount an immediate response to such an act. Our strong young men have crossed the Straets of Aegeus and begun to defend the honor of the Greek nation. They intend not the complete destruction of the great Roman nation, but to impress upon the Roman psyche that the might of the Greek nation is not to be underestimated, and to remind their leaders of the supremacy of the Greek model.
To that end, another galley has met with unfortunate consequences at the hands of a Greek galley, whose unparallelled valor in defeating a Roman galley without loss of life has merited her Captain a Promotion. Furthermore, with several Roman cities lying in waste from their former owners' cowardice, it was simple for our veteran Heavy Cavalry to destroy the remaining Garrison that was on that city's former location (unfortunately no-one remained to remind us of the valiant acts done by residents of that former town, nor to glorify the ancestors who conspired to make that town what it once was, for their progeny were cowards of the vilest sort). The decision was made to award "Elite" status to that cavalry brigade, as evidence that they fought hard, even though the battle was barely joined.
We hope the Roman nation will meet us in battle one day soon, for it is in battle that our mettle is test'd, our valor is temp'r'd with honor, and our virtue discovere'd. Our citizens in the East have had the pleasure and the honor of meeting the Persians in fair battle, and have come out the better for't. The Persians have made excellent foes, and undoubtedly will again in future battles. May the Romans do the same?
