The Altera Centauri collection has been brought up to date by Darsnan. It comprises every decent scenario he's been able to find anywhere on the web, going back over 20 years.

They are a lot of fun, and if you post decent turn reports they're more interesting. You have to be willing to ignore your partners' incompetence, as they will ignore yours; although you can make suggestions, you never tell them they did something wrong or backtrack (barring someone intentionally hurting the game or somesuch) rgeardless of their play. Part of the point is learning from each others' strength... They're great for early games (like when the game is just released), and I'd probably play a few civ4 succession games if we have the chance
But start a small map one with 5-7 civs total, if you do, nothing over 'normal map'...
