    Ok.....

Dom, ducki, beta, snoopy, I strongly discourage elimination, since I want to be playing this game past the first couple of techs.

Oh, and I want to be as far away from Dominae as possible, for the same reason

I think it would be best if Spain and Mongols were not in the game. Incas should be fine, since Chasquis do not replace a wheeled unit anyway.

Maybe we can use Keshiks for advanced barbarians!

So, are we ready to start?

I am. I just lost track what conditions we finally agreed to.

We didn't actually agree to anything yet, but at least now we have two groups that are more likely to agree on a set of conditions.

So for the mod group, how does this sound (Sir Ralph, jshelr, Rommel2D, Krill, Gamecube64):
                • AU mod (all changes listed below are relative to AU mod)
                • All citizens have a 1gpt maintenance
                • All mounted units (including Samurai) are wheeled
                • Mobile SAM is wheeled
                • Settling allowed only on plains, grassland, and flood-plains
                • Forest impassable to wheeled units.
                • Road movement cost decreased to 1/4.
                • Clearing/planting forest/wetlands not allowed.
                • 3 billion, wet, temperate, large pangaea map with small-map tech rate and corruption.
                • Distance corruption reduced to huge-map levels. See note below for details.
                • Emperor level
                • Raging barbarians, Keshiks as advanced barbarians, privateers as barbarian sea unit.
                • Strategic resources increased to PTW levels.
                • Minimum research time increased to 5 turns.
                • 3-city elimination mode
                • Iron PBEM etiquette and rules, including optional ones.

                Did I forget anything?

Corruption note: think of it as playing on a small map, but with all distances stretched out. Distance corruption corresponds to a huge map, but rank corruption and tech rate correspond to a small map. Small-map OCN is 17 and tech rate is 200, to match the number of players (6). Corruption is multiplied by 81% to get huge-map distance corruption, so the percentage of OCN is also multiplied by 81% to keep rank corruption at approximately small-map levels. The distance between starting locations is also increased to huge-map levels to deal with underpopulated map.

                  ouch.

I'm happy with that. No more leaving the barbs alone.

Do we get to pick civs, or random?

And what about the map? The same map for each, or different?

I'll start another thread for the second game later on in the day.

Thanks alex. Agree to all. What concerns your diagram, are there really cities with 200% corruption? Would you prepare the appropriate mod?

The other players of the "modded" group, please post your time of availability (London time please - with or without DST), to make the optimal turn order.

I can mainly play between 6pm and 11pm. As long as the game is still young and there are no tough decisions to meet, I can chime in a turn before work, around 6am or 7am.

I might be able to play with a turn before work after my exams, but Since I'm GMT any way, I should play after SR.

One more note. Can we reduce the # of civs for large maps to 6 and increase the distance between civs (maybe to 24)? there's plenty of space and we don't want to start too close, do we?

I tried the settings in the editor, and boy are these maps gorgeous. My only concern is, every now and then (about 1/5 .. 1/10) one of the civs starts on an island. This wouldn't be good, and it can't be noticed within the first 2 turns. What will we do about this? Maybe Dom takes a look at our map and checks only this?

I'm attaching the mod. Please start a game or two (large map) and see how it feels. Does the citizen maintenance bog down science too much?

Edit: updated mod in later post

I will, but tomorrow. It's getting late and I'm very tired for today.
