I have done some testing tonight and this game is indeed compatible with v1.22 as it's a "modded game".
Not sure that is the case:

OK - done the upgrade and dual set-up. Works fine, Thanks Rhoth and Uno.

I, Sir Beta of Fulham, Lord of Putney, Master and Commander eschew this giddy nonsense of landing, exploring, and meeting native inhabitants. Are we sailors or are we landlubbers?

      The English continue to sail.

Furthermore, as we have yet to set foot any landmass other than England and Ireland, we can in no way be held accountable for the terrible disease faced by Tarillo and the Portuguese. This is no doubt a disease of their own making. Perhaps if they would leave the llamas and goats alone, they would not be facing such problems.

The save is sailing on to vanWittlich of the Dutch.

(And Rhoth - love your story line! )

From the diary of Grand Exploration Master Tarillo Duquan VII

August 10, 1495ad – Ah, but the Mayans are certainly persistent. Many months ago we thought to teach them how to read and write our alphabet. I personally hoped to set up a trading partnership to bring the wares of these people and their land back to Portugal. As Grand Exploration Master I have the complete confidence of the Grand Potentate in deciding such matters. It is why the title of Grand Exploration Master is so highly coveted.

These many months we were led to believe they truly desired our trade and knowledge. Their leader, Smoke-Jaguar, was the epitome of a cultured Englishman (not that that means much these days) and acted like a personal friend to me during our stay in their capital of Chichen Itza. Our expedition was put on hold as our soldiers became teachers and students alike. We taught them our language, both spoken and written, along with the rich history of the nation of Portugal. In return they taught us their own language and history, their rituals, and the many perils of the surrounding lands. A strong alliance between the old world and the new appeared to be forming.

Alas, an alliance and trade partnership was not to be. Perhaps I was naïve in my assessment of these native men and women. They dress like savages and do not know the civilized ways of Europe. But they are far from being unintelligent; a mistake I will not make in the future. So the saying goes, “Never judge a book by its cover”. Add to that, “Never judge a man by his demeanor”.

Friendship only went so far and as soon as they felt they had learned all we had to give them of our history and knowledge of writing, they turned on us. They played us like musical instruments as all along they had planned to sacrifice us all to their pagan deities in some ritual that no civilized man could understand.

It was mere chance that I happened to overhear Smoke Jaguar discussing the planned sacrifice. My less than perfect understanding of their language almost made me doubt what I had heard. I shudder to think of what would have been if I had doubted.

In the middle of the night we quietly left Chichen Itza for the jungles beyond. Unfortunately our departure was discovered and we have been running ever since.

I thank the Mayans that they did teach us to survive in their homeland. I doubt they thought we’d ever need it. Those survival skills have been all that has stood in the way of our capture and return to that unimaginable fate. The Mayans have been relentless in their pursuit, but we have so far managed to avoid them. Every night since we left Chichen Itza we have pushed ourselves to the brink of exhaustion each day to avoid the avid pursuit. Indeed this is the first day in a very long time that I have had to even contemplate writing in my journal. I believe we’ve finally lost them after weeks of pursuit. Perhaps they just gave up.

            Only time will tell…

The further adventures of Tarillo Duquan will continue at a later date. The author is currently not feeling well.

I also am not feeling well. Maybe the savages are rife with disease.

I've been meaning to post the password for future reference:

                        Passage

I think that is it. Don't remember if it is case sensitive or not.
