i used the editor to just get rid of bits i found annoying, like having to wait so long for a road to be built, so i made roads and railroads take just 1 turn to build.
Help negate the vegiterian movement!

Amazing, I know. It's a strange idea that a game is used to bring pleasure. People are so strange sometimes...
They'll have more fun if they don't cheat. Trainers are like using floaties to swim with. I live to make people happy.

Well, this is fine as long as all the players can take advantage.

hi ,
---"thank you"--- , ......of course there is an other way to learn things , ....spent time on apolyton , learn , and implement what you have learned here , in a game , if you dont get it or understand it completely , come back , ask , and try again , ....
Well Panag, that's an addition to the best learning method . The best way to learn is practice, period. However, reading what some of the strategy master, like Vel, got to say is great, too. But you got to actually try it, not just read.
Also... you got to forget all that you have learnt from Civ 2. I had to throw all my previous practice with Civ away to start playing reasonably at Civ 3.

hi ,
yes and no , units are units , its the way you use them , ....example on deity , the comp sometimes forgets , ( ) , ahem , half the time , and more , to guard its rear , ......nice for some paratroops , and nice for you , to get those unprotected city's , .......
I've used a couple trainers in my day to get better at what I considered difficult games. Maybe lisdexia is getting clobbered even on cheiftan level.
Why is using a trainer cheating?
Yes, practice is the best teacher. But how many piano students start out playing Beethoven? You start with "Chopsticks" and move on to "Heart & Soul".
And maybe some people like to play games and completely clobber the AI. Sometimes it's a fun way to vent some frustration.
Panag, Solver, let me ask you something... Have you ever used a walkthrough or a strategy guide to help your play? If you have, lay off people who want trainers. If not, hats off to you for figuring out every game on your own. You've read Vel's strategy thread, which I would consider a walkthrough. Cheaters. nya nya nya nya nya
Dunk, I can't agree with you. I consider walkthroughs and trainers a completely different thing. Strategy guides teach what to do; reading strategies is part of the proccess. Trainers, however, are modifying some bits in the memory/whatever that let you do whatever you want in an unfair way. That's it. Now, if I know that a person is using trainers, I will refuse to play him in MP. It's my philosophy, it might be wrong, but to me, if someone wants to cheat, I can't be certain he won't try to cheat when playing me.
And BTW... while I'm reading strats for Civ 3, I started with Civ 1 without reading anything, of course (Internet way back there?). And for most other games I played, whatever little I have, I almost never used a guide, too. Oh, and I have never activated the cheat mode .

hi ,
actually , nothing is "stupid" , ....as long as you learn , .....
there is no such thing as a stupid move , if you feel that it was stupid , well then its because of other reason's , ....like the lack of , .......training , or intel , or beause you started a war with a civ that is about 10 times stronger then you , .....
