Repairing corruption

    In one of my games I started in one end of a serpentine island. Between my starting position and the next patch of ferile land was first a mountain range and then a huge jungle (guessing the radnom selector picked a warm climate).

    All in all, I think I had to walk maybe 15 tiles for my second city. I was quite surprised when I realized that I had 99% corruption IN MY SECOND CITY...

    If that doesn't say that corruption is broken, I don't know what does...

      I'm finding there is no real adequate way to repair it. And the regent and King levels take it to an extreme. I have incurred few problems on Cheiftan, Warlord. I have many cities over long distances, courthouses help, I'm usually in monarchy, not to big on Republic, or democracy.

      Forbiddne Palace is helpful, although I build mine only 12 spaces from my Capital, that was a mistake. It seems like it is a bit high for the levels I am playing, but I didn't want anything easy to begin with.
