Other than the obligatory spending time with girlfriend and university studies stuff. I have found a lot of fun on my little Game Boy Advance system. There have been a number of "AAA" grade games released recently that have done well to hold my attention. Advance wars, Castlevania, Mario Advance and Mario Kart are all extremely fun titles which I recemend highly .
On the literary front, I have read a few fascinating titles. "A Confederacy of Dunces" by John Kennedy Toole, one of the best books I have read in recent years; and "Fast Food Nation" a fascinating, and often-times disturbing look at the Fast Food industry. Although only released earlier this year, critics are already hailing it as a modern-day "The Jungle". If anyone else here is a history buff (and I'm sure some are), "Japan's War" by Hoyt is a wonderful account of Japan's involvement in WW II.
Also, if Civ III weren't coming out, I would be highly pining over a little title by the name of "Zoo Tycoon" which is coming out Oct. 18th. Although I haven't played any of the previous titles in the Tycoon series, I am a great lover of animals and this game looks truly amazing. It would probably be the game dominating my every waking thought were Civ III to not exist. In any event, I reccemend anyone who enjoys sim-city/Theme Park type games to take a good look at it. Bears can get loose and attack innocent denizens of your zoo if you are careless...what more is needed in a game?
Oh yeah, and I have been playing a little game called "Civilization II" or something along those lines.
