Well, I started to update before, but it took some time to convert all that into Excel to be able to sort by resource, so you had time to post it here while I updated.
Some resource information can also be
found under a summary thread, Summary on Andrew's great postings,
where I have summarised the information from
the Civ III strategy book posted by Andrew1999.
BTW, thanks Gramphos for making such an
exclusive (espcially the resource images) summary.

If I have some time I'll try to grab better pics from the full size screens tomorrow.
IIRC Uranium and silk are the only full size images in the thread currently.

This is said to be saltpeter, and I believe it look as the one above, except from the background (and I'll keep the map pic).
If you think different let me know.
That's definitely saltpeter and the Civilopedia confirms it as such:
Do the resource images animate? Does the oil drip? Does the horse look around? Does the uranium glow? Some of those resources are so dinky, it's hard to even tell what they are. I hope they are more clear in the game.

I don't think the terrain animates, and yes the resources are clearer in the game as some of them are picked from low quality screenshots.
BlueHooHoo, an Infogrames employee who has the game and was posting about it yesterday said during a chat that only units are animated. No terrain animations. (Too bad, maybe the eventual expansion would remedy this shortcoming)

Oh well, probably bog my PII 450 down anyway. As long as they are clear.
