So another attempt for a trolling classic, Horse? Are you trying to complete a trilogy (Civ2 players shouldn't be allowed to build cities on mountains, Civ3 shouldn't allow cities on mountains, and now this)?

And the best thing is that he now has tons of newbies to play with...

Yeah AH, I noticed all of this stuff too while I was playing CivIII on my computer today, and it really ruined the game for me.

Op! Wait a second! CivIII isn't out yet.

I must of just been assuming...

CivIII is a new game, and with each new CIV game, the gameplay has changed.

Some people just don't like change; and sometimes things just don't change the way people want them to.

      OH FRICKIN' WELL!

          He's gone!

Horse hasn't posted on this thread since I last did.

Did I actually SHUT HIM UP?!?!?!

            You wish

Why should I post? This thread is bubbling along nicely

Btw beastie, I don't ICS and actually I prefer to win diplomatically/economically. I rarely fight - except in the last century of the game if I think I can't win the space race.
Any views I may express here are personal and certainly do not in any way reflect the views of my employer. Tis the rising of the moon..

Look, I just don't anymore, okay?

What you people are failing to understand in regards to the railroad thing, is that you can only use rails that you control (in cultural border). This is true to the real world, Germany in WWII only could use the rail lines of areas they controlled. I forget who, but someone used this as an argument against restricted rail.

As powerful as a civ's culture rating might be, I fail how a peaceful civ with no means of defending itself would survive an onslaught of tanks. Once I get my Civ3, the first game I play is going to be a massive military campaign.
To us, it is the BEAST.

AH is even smarter than he thinks he is. He can a take few snippets of info about Civ 3 and deduce the entire gameplay experience and how all the new factors affect strategy. Truly remarkable indeed!

Sounds like AH is another person looking for Civ 2.5. I look forward to a DIFFERENT playing experience. Civ 2 is far from perfect and I have faith in Firaxis' abilities to improve on it. He's comfortable in his little Civ 2 trailer and doesn't want to move into a Civ 3 condo.

I think invading armies should be able to use roads to full effect, and almost every civ player I think agrees with me on this point. I also think invading armies should be able to use the rails as well, but I can see that not letting invading armies use rails might be a good idea, since invading armies only use rails after they have secured them and use them to ferry supplies and more troops to front lines. But this thing were invading armies cant use raods is the most stupidist thing I have heard in my life.

Of course the mp will come out latter in the spring, but if they make me pay for it that will really make me mad. I want to get the game when it comes out next month, but when I think about the fact that I might have to pay even more on top of the $50 you already spent on the game to get mp support would make me very dissapointed.

I though try to be a peacefull builder in the beginning of the game and I uselly switch to war production in the mondern area of the game when you have advanced weapons.

people said SWAT3 sucked ass because it won't have multiplayer out of the box.

                          (cough cough)

then when multiplayer came out, people were all the rage for a few months.. then they started saying it sucked ass because you can only have one team - the friendlies.... (5 players)

so now they are waiting for patch 2.0 which will allow TWO sides to the story (and 10 players)

Anyway, as long as a game is well designed and gives you a good gaming experience, I don't CARE whether it has multiplayer or single player only. I'm quite happy playing The Sims or Infantry Online or Diablo 2 or whatever as long as I like it. If I don't like it, well, I'm not going to shove it down someone's throat and brand them a heretic for not agreeing with me.

PS. The Sims doesn't "have" a multiplayer as such. And it's probably the most awesome top selling game of 2000/2001.

Are there any Unique Units that are not military units?

Are there any leaders that are not military leaders?

This game is still about war and conquest, its just been modified to make that a bit more complex and realistic in the game.
