Moreover, we will build on every possible tile. NO tile will be free from our engineers work. We will terraform the desert, we will terraform the poles and we will terraform the ruins of the enemy cities. MWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

EVERY city will have all the tiles in it's range changed to farmland and railroad on grassland(except the seas ). And there will be not a single tile in our empire that will not follow these rules, even if it means millions of casualties for the other civs.
LoL, then I'll be able to kick your ass with superior shield production as just having all grasslands with roads and farmlands doesn't produce nearly as much shields (hardware) as a fair amount of hills with mines on them.

So, it seems like perfectionists have the upper hand here. Will Firaxis comply, or will we have to tear down their headquarters and move them about 5 km to achieve perfect symmetry?

I was talking about the final stage. I have some hills before(2 per city, simetrically ).
When I get to the point of all grassland there is almost no AI left.

I must agree with Colon.

Eli, did you ever play Populous: The Beginning? You are a shaman en route to becoming a god, funneling your followers' worship into mana for your spells so you can take over the solar system. I think you'll know what I mean when I say, "Ah, the landraising spell."
Symetric I like that. Some hills do make things look nice along with a forest or 2. But every square in my control MUST BE COVERED BY IMPROVEMENTS!!! The thing I absolutely love about Civ3 is the fact you can expand your boarders to grab every piece of land near any cities and for those hard to reach areas, I just expoit them with colonies. The world is just my canvas as I cover every square metre of land (and sea if Civ3 has ocean improvments, I hope ) no area will will remain natural and unordered. I will not stop until the world has been totally industuralized and put into production.

Anyway, I'm too a perfectionist and I hate it when Ghandi builds cities in my territory. I want a migration order that instanly moves a city to the spot of your choice for 50 gold per citizen

Hey good idea.

Laszlo: Ohh yes. Populous. All land *had* to be flattened at exactly same height, and all houses *had* to be those big castles. If there was a tree, I would open the ground below it and watch it sink, then raise the ground again. Same with those rocks. It was always so annoying when the other god would start to hit me with his good stuff, but it never prevented my total victory come Armageddon.

I was going to say you guys are nuts, but then, on reflection, I realized that Civ is just a game, and if you guys get your kicks from turning it into the Stepford Civ, then hey, more power to you.
Err ... just don't move to my neighbourhood, OK? Tim Burton showed what your kind favours in the way of architecture in "Edward Scissorhands" and I kind of like the place the way it is.

I'm a peaceful perfectionist but if anyone builds so much as a sandcastle on my land ....
good, you sounded too PC before, but now i know you are on the right path.
i usually have 5 "King Cities", pumpin out science and money, and 15 "Army Cities", that just use special resources and forests and mined hills.
AND THE OVERLAP AT MY WILL.
AND TERRAFORMING? I MAKE ALL THE UNUSED SPACES IN MY LAND HILLS OR FORESTS SO THE AI DOESNT BUILD CITIES ON IT. HAHAHHA.

I'm a perfectionist, too. Always build my cities in a set pattern. If an AI player so much as places a few bricks on my territory, then those bricks will soon be all that remains of their civ
So, Firaxis, will our perfectionist pervertions be satisfied?
