That is what I thought. BTW I just get a MGL from an AC, too bad it was on defense and got killed.

Holy Cow. Elite Ancient Cavalry can't produce MGL's?

Well, a 3x A.C. army would have these stats: 4.3.3. If built with the elite* unit that generated the leader, plus 2 veteran units, that would be 16hp's of 4.3.3. That's pretty hardcore.
However, 3x knights = 6.4.3. With 3 vets, that's 12hps.
Up to you. One way gives more movement & hp at the expense of 2 attack and 1 defense.

Hey guys, my internet is down and I have to do this at a friends house..so didn't get to read all the posts.
I saw uptopic many were saying it is not that big a deal fighting 150-200 battles not getting a MGL.
Ummm let me clarify.
I was playing a militaristic civ.
I fought around 150 battles with an ELITE unit. I counted each Elite Unit when it attacked after I had noticed I wasn't getting an MGL.
I fought totally with ancient cavalry.
Militaristic Civ + 150 Battles with an Elite Unit + No MGL's =
HARDCORE BUG
Sorry. That is my opinion.
I was playing Germany BTW.
I have been playing non stop for last 3-4 days not one MGL..I think this is a bug.

You saw the post where a MGL was created from AC and it just happened to me this afternoon. I was sure I had seen it before, now it ws certain. This means it is not a bug, it does allow MGL. You just hit a rough patch. Anyway people were not saying it was no big deal, just possible. When you are cavalier with that response it maybe humorous, but it can make people discount your numbers.
Remember elite for AC is 6 HP, not 5. So if you had more than 100 battles with elites and got no MGL, I would say that is very nasty, not a bug.

Whatever they say about this new patch being less 'streaky', they lied :P
The patch does MANY good things, it just seems making combat less streaky wasn't one of them after all
Anyone who has watched perfectly good armies get 10+ of their points screwed over by a single spearman, will attest to thisIt's all my territory really, they just squat on it...!
She didn't declare war on me, she's just playing 'hard to get'...

A quick mathematical diversion
lim (1 - 1/n)^n tends to 1/e
So the chance of *not* getting an MGL with 16 battles as a militaristic viv is about 1/e (1 - 1/16)^16
e^3 is about 20, so the chance of not getting one in 144 battles with a militaristic civ is about 1/e^(144/16) = 1/e^9 which is about 1/8,000
So of the 8,000 people who have played Germany and made 144 Elite attacks, you are the one poor guy who got scr*wed.
The other 7,999 got their MGL so haven't bothered posting

They dropped that.
Anyhows...winning with bad luck is one of the ways of telling you have total ownage of a diffculty level, so I adapt my stanceIt's all my territory really, they just squat on it...!
