I just realized that I never got back to you about the potential for a democracy deal. I apologize for that.

How are things going at Roleplay? If you are still interested in dealing for democracy we would still like to set something up. Perhaps a deal solely for gold is in the works but we would need to know how much you would be able to offer.

We will be playing the turn tonight and we receive democracy once we open it so we could send it to you anytime after that if a deal can be worked out.

PM from Togas. I brought up the no trade clause in chat and he agreed to it. I would think 200 gold is fine since they aren't a huge producer and have virtually nothing to trade us other than gold.

I had a short chat with Togas tonight about the deal and he agreed to pay 220 gold. Here is the formal deal I sent to him via PM.

The nation of Roleplay has agreed to send an amount of gold totalling the sum of 220 gold in combination of lump sum payment and gold per turn payment to the nation of Vox Controli in 680ad. In return, on their turn Vox Controli agrees to send the technology of democracy -accepted to the nation of Roleplay to complete this deal.

There will be a 20 no-trade clause from the turn that Roleplay accepts the final deal (i.e. 690ad) in which Roleplay will not trade democracy to any other team.

While chatting with Togas to work out how to get around getting rid of the 4gpt deal from printing press he asked me if we'd be willing to trade them our horse resource for a while. I haven't talked terms with him yet as I wanted to see if we even want to do that first.

They probably want to have a mobile defense force like we were originally going to do. I have a hunch their trading relationship with GS isn't nearly as harmonious as ours with Lego...meaning GS doesn't give them free stuff and I'd bet they don't have the cavalry protection that Lego offered us.
