Yea, Jon. Please replace me as one of the players. I dont have time for this in the next couple week.

Diss - re Miller Town - the cities first debate aside - and I have already voted on that - putting mines on the two roaded grassland squares would boost shield production in that city, but only when it has grown large enough to use them.
The green hours refer to Borc's time counter. Check the thread. Each team has 7 green hours assigned - based on the first player - who was Eli - which don't count in the time used to play the game. In addition to the speed with which you and Eli have turned thegame around, the green hors have helped because it seems that roleplay? is always sending us the save just before or during the green hours. You may want to check it out.
BTW - we have a huge time lead - great stuff by the way. I know it means diddly squat in game turns - but it does mean we are on top of things and that team dynamics aren't holding us back.
Eli - are you going to be back in a couple of weeks? Sure hope so.Cry havoc and let slip the dogs of war .... aw, forget that nonsense. Beer, please.

I have the save.
What did we decide on the worker? I think I'll connect that other game with a road first. To get another trade arrow.
Millertown is just growing too slowly to build settlers. What should we build? I have it building barracks at the moment.Last edited by Dis; January 16, 2003, 22:58.

Where is the worker now? I am confused. I thought he was in south Estonia building a road.
Or is this a second worker - in which case - yes Diss - you are in the best position to figure out which tile improvement nets us the most at this point. You can see what is being worked on by citizens. I still suggest mining the two roaded grassland squares (Miller town #8, and The voice #7 - as per the nomenclature laid out in my Chat Map note), particularly if we want Miller Town to become a barracks and troop production centre. But as I said - you can figure out what's best from the game save.
If you are talking about the original worker - CONTINUE BUILDING THE ROAD TO THE FISH/WHEAT CITY SITE AS OUTLINED EARLIER!!!! (sorry - a bit emphatic there.)Cry havoc and let slip the dogs of war .... aw, forget that nonsense. Beer, please.

yeah I got you. OK when millertown gets close to size 2 we will mine those 2 squares. Right now our best bet is probably connecting that other game with a road to increase our gold income by 1.
And yes the other settler is still busy roading away.

OK - so we have two workers! Sorry - I missed that along the way. And for the second worker - start mining one of the squares for now - won't take long and will produce an extra shield - and we then take some time and can see what we are up to.
I apologize - I thought we were still producing two settlers.
Also, the reason I like the wheat/fish city is that it should be a our best food producing city in the early game. We can just use it to pump out workers and settlers.Cry havoc and let slip the dogs of war .... aw, forget that nonsense. Beer, please.

Yup - understood. I can see the logic in that.
However - The game square produces 2 food and 2 shields, plus one commerce if it is roaded. You can get the same production - er wrong Beta - sorry - I thought the road grassland squares were shielded - which they are not.
Take it away Diss.Cry havoc and let slip the dogs of war .... aw, forget that nonsense. Beer, please.

There is a new post in the F/A thread with Lux' latest response.
Diss - if the recent trade with Lux is done as you have suggested in the F/A thread - in other words - they have provided us with iron working - can we please see gridded screenshots of both north and south estonia. The big question is - do we have iron? If yes, where? And if far away, how do we get to it? City or colony?
(*fingers crossed*, again)
(Diss - I apologize if my posts seem demanding or pushy. That is not my intent. I am just suggesting and recommending things, and asking questions as they come to my mind. Trying to get discussion going on certain topics. I hope it is not p***ing you off. If it is - please let me know.)Last edited by Beta; January 17, 2003, 10:01.Cry havoc and let slip the dogs of war .... aw, forget that nonsense. Beer, please.

If we find iron close to GS, I suggest founding a city instead of a colony. Why? Because if we build a colony, they (GS) will automatically know that we are harvesting a resource that they can't see yet (iron) and "the cat will be out of the bag." Besideds a city will grow, a colony will not.____________________________
