  • I agree that we need to continue researching Ironworking - just for the possibility of having iron deposit(s) show up on our island.

    • I agree that we should go for 18/3 now. Which means that the second citizen should keep working on the cow tile.

      • Diss and Jon - any views? The points up for discussion are 1. switching to 18/3, and 2. sticking with iron working.

              • In the chat room tonight there was talk about Vox accidentally sending out a save without the password on. One dated 3600BC. Eli or Diss - any ideas?

Didn't look like it was any big deal. I get the sense that everyone is trying to live by the spitit and intent of the game - which is good. Wouldn't be much fun otherwise.

And please look at the proposed FA intro in the Foreign Affairs thread. I would like to get it out on Sunday to the others, along with a response to RP (Spain). Note that I put up a poll to decide how we respond.

                • Where should we put our next city? I vote for the other side of the lake as #2 - Miller Town, .... and then the site to the west as #3????

That one I am not sure about. Does it gain us much to have our influence extend across the straight. It might help - in that city #3 will be close to our capital, and if another civ does build out there - it could be relatively far away from their capitol- which means - we could conceivably get a culture switch. I know its a long shot - but I've seen it happen enough times in the game, and water doesn't seem to matter.

(City #3 - Elipolis??? - jon - were you going to determine order based on the order of joining?)

It's late and time for bed.

                    • 3450BCE played. City is still working on the cows to get the settler quicker, but I forgot to change production from Warrior to Settler, someone should change it next turn.

                      Screenshot sent to everyone.

                      • The screenshot does offer some good news. It looks like the island continues. It might not be an island after all . There is another forest beyond the one we saw before.

As for the city sites I agree with the format that Eli drew up and sent out.

And yeah 18/3 sounds nice to me. We'll keep our city workers as is. And if I play tomorrow morning I'll switch to settler.

And yes we should stick with Iron Working. I think switching loses all research progress (at least it does with me it seems). Like we said it is important to find out if there is any iron on our island/peninsula.

                        • It seems that there is grassland after that forest...

                            • Maybe not grassland, but definetely something green. Hills maybe.

                              • Looks like forest. I also wonder if it is a narrow isthmus to another landmass - in which case, suggest:

                                1. if it is only one tile wide, and it looks like it is , that we park Tim or Willy there to keep others out

                                and

                                2. we may need to rethink about switching from 18/3 back to 21/5

                                and

                                3. the faster we can get a road cut across our land from the city to the isthmus - the better.

Now - if it is simply the end of the island - pitch this post into the garbage can.

But I for one have my fingers crossed - which is why I type so slowly ...
