Ditto.
Eli - regarding connecting the incense, The Voice falls back to 1 after the settler is produced. Do we want the worker to continue building a road south, until we need him to pop back up and connect to keep the folks happy? Or - do we want to do it now and get it out of the way?
Or do we have any plans to produce another worker in the not too distant future and who can hadle the job?Cry havoc and let slip the dogs of war .... aw, forget that nonsense. Beer, please.

In case you all hadnt noticed yet and need more info, the Thread of Everything was updated(Beta: Check my last post there)."Beware of he who would deny you access to information, for in his heart he dreams himself your master" - Commissioner Pravin Lal.

We should come to some consensus on what we should do with the worker. I think we all like to do different things
It's tempting to connect the incense. But that can wait I suppose. Also we can road that other game, or try to improve the cows.
For now I moved the settler south. We can at least build 2 more road tiles to the south to speed up movement of troops and settlers to the southern part of the continent.
We didn't uncover any more land to the south, so I have no screen shots. 1 more turn until the goody hut.

I dont remember when the settler is built, but if it's ready next turn, do not open the hut! This way we wont get a free settler for sure."Beware of he who would deny you access to information, for in his heart he dreams himself your master" - Commissioner Pravin Lal.

Eli - I gather you are saying that if we have a settler on the move, then the goody hut will not produce another one?? This is a question from me, as I have never noticed that in the game before, or read in a thread. I'm not suggesting you aren't right - in fact I'm sure you are. Thank-you. I learned something new today.Cry havoc and let slip the dogs of war .... aw, forget that nonsense. Beer, please.

Speaking of learning - I have been going back over some of the old strategy threads to see how they may apply to our starting position, and secondly, for my own interest and future observation, to see how a human vs human game develops differently than a human vs AI game.
Anyways, this may be old hat to you veterans of the site, but page 21 of Vel's stategy thread part three talks about starting on a peninsula. And the thread on Appropriate City Placement was also good. I have tended to be one who spreads my cities out, and go for territory. It has worked well for me - generally at Monarch and Emperor - but I see the merits of the closer city placement as discussed in the thread, as suggested for our second city, and as applies to our peninsular start in general.Cry havoc and let slip the dogs of war .... aw, forget that nonsense. Thank God, our first Goody Hut! I was beginning to think that Goody Huts weren't in the game!
I, for one, hope it's an advance.____________________________

advances are nice, but only recently have I discovered how cool it is to pop a settler. I popped him in a good spot too. I immediately built a city. Sped up my research considerably (I was only 6 or 7 turns into the game at that point).
A tech would be real nice though.

I agree, but since we are not expansionistic...finding a settler is remote at best.____________________________

3150BCE:
Both northern warriors moved south, nothing special.
Worker started roading a plains tile.
The Voice will grow in two turns.
I forgot to rename the warriors.
The souther Warrior opened the hut...

You're right Beta....and our southern neighbors are quite possibly hacking their way through the jungle to meet us...Oh well, I was hopeing for being isolated for a little longer - at least until we have iron..____________________________
