  • Nope - you have it pegged right Witt. Survival.

    Now - with survival comes some opportunties. We have the Little Bob offer and counter fake invasion, and the Part of Big Bob offer, to consider. But there is not a whole lot we can do for awhile.

    We need to grow, get our reserach rate up to where we are a meaningful partner again, and develop a military strike force of sorts. My view here is that we should concentrate on a navy.

    So, I am not sure we need a thread to discuss it. With the current slow pace of the game, an the fact that it will be awhile before we have grown sufficiently to make a difference - I say we can wait a few weeks before starting the thread.

    On the other hand, it may be fun to chat about what we might do once we do grow up again.

    • Oops - and I meant to add - as far as being able to grow - yes one more city. But we can adds lots more population yet. If you added up the land and coastal tiles available and compared that with our pop, we still have lots of room for growth.

            • Hey guys I'm back from my Maui vacation. My wife and I had a lot of fun and enjoyed the place again (our second time there, though last time we weren't married).

              I guess the game IS going slowly. I thought that it would at least be to 340ad by now.

              Harry, you need to PM Bigfree about the save. The problem is that Togas isn't playing the saves anymore and didn't pass on his email list. Arnelos played them for a time and I got him to include the two of us, but now Bigfree is playing them and I had only asked him to include me because I thought he would have had yours. Sorry.

                Yes - the game is going slowly. Two of the days was me sitting absently-minded with the save; I forgot you weren't around.

                • 340ad played as per Rhoth's orders above.

                  I wasn't clear about the non-roaded mined tile - I presume you mean the one 2-3 of New Voice - which was roaded this turn.

                  Workers 8 of Resurrection are mining the hill.

                  Renewal wf moved from gold mountain to mined grassland tile. Harbor in 3.

                  Also - worker on gold mountain at Renewal 4 is mining.

                  Printing Press on 16 turns. And we have a library and harbor out next turn, another library in 2 turns, and another harbor in 3. Starting to get civilized.

                  • Cool. Looks good to me. I will run this and check it out to see if I have any changes to the 350ad turn orders (which might be played in about the next two weeks or so )

                    Re: the non-roaded mined tile, yest 2-3 of New Voice was the one I meant. Sorry about the confusion. Re: the mining vs. roading of the hills and gold mountain, that is fine. Neither of those tiles are pressing within the next three turns so I was going to have them road first for maximum flexibility of being able to move off the tile quickly if necessary. Mining first is perfectly fine though.

                    • 350ad turn orders have been updated to remove the order about the workers north of Resurrection mining the hill since they already are. They should finish and be able to road the tile in 360ad. Other than that, all the orders should be fine. I will post 360ad turn orders sooner or later,probably after 350ad is played so that I don't run into trying to figure out eactly where the workers will be several turns from now like I did when I was writing turn orders for a few turns ahead.

                          • Turn 350 played

                            Not much happened (all together now...say "I know" ). Turn played per my orders. I will have orders for turn 360 posted soon.

                            We have 69 gold with +23gpt and Printing Press in 15 turns. Glory of War still has not sent the 83 gold they owe us so I am going to compose a message requesting a timetable from them on payment.

                            Regarding the war on Bob, RP is now down to 1 city on Bob. But those scurrilious scalawags have taken up residence on our lost home!

                            • 360ad Turn Orders

                              - Phoenix grows to size 2 and completes library. Next build queue should be harbor. Make sure new work force is working an unroaded forest. It should give the city 4spt. If not then work the roaded hill.

                              - Seabiscuit grows to size 2. New work force should be working a mined hill.

                              - 3 workers north of Resurrection should road the mined hill tile.

                              - 3 workers NW of New Voice should move 2-3-3.

                              That should be about it. Pretty soon we'll be able to chop several more forests and get a couple more harbors out to really start growing.
