  • Rhoth.

I like the Irony plan. Another consideration, although I 'm not sure its that big a factor here, is that Irony and Resurrection are the two closest cities to the capitol for corruption purposes. It would be good to see them expand first if possible.

Also, 244 gold is pretty steep for Memory. Let it work on it for a bit.

I like the harbour, library, marketplace queue as a general game plan.

I was at first undecided about the New Voice and barracks - but then after two nanoseconds of refelection said yes - that is the way to go. If we rae going to be any kind of factor at all in this game - we will need some kind of military. I find it interesting that as small as we are now, we still have both sides in the Bobian conflict courting us for help. That says something.

So yup, lets build a barracks after the library.

As to luxuries - please see the ND thread where I am proposing they may want to make a partial payment with a luxury. Right now, 10% on the luxury slider costs us 6gpt, which is total over a 20 turn period.

Hmm... makes me think we may want to ask ND for say 140 gold and a luxury for a 40 turn period starting sometime in the distant future. How does that sound?

But overall Rhoth - great plan and great analysis.

    • With this small a continent, corruption and waste will be roughly the same for most of the cities except the new one and Panama Vox.

The reason it costs so much is Memory just started the harbor and currently only contributes 2 spt. That is equivalent to reducing the price by only 8 gold per turn. But within the next two turns we can work a mined hill for 4 spt, the equivalent of reducing the cost by 16 gold per turn.

BTW, I don't think I explained my reasoning for marketplaces before libraries in most of the cities. We'll be doing a lot of 40 turn researches so the cash is better right now than the science. The two libraries I proposed were more for culture radius to allow all the cities to grow to size 6.

Barracks works for me. That is my preference too. We'll need to decide whether we want slow movers or fast movers. It is obviously cheaper to build warriors for upgrade to Immortals but I'd prefer to build horsemen for upgrade to knights. If we build too much military right away we'll eat into our gold quite a bit.

Regarding the luxury, that is fine with me if they agree to it. We also have the one from GoW too so we could have many turns of luxuries coming to us. The only thing is that at size 6 one luxury won't be enough without 10% lux slider anyway for the cities (unless we have a temple in each)

      • FYI, Roleplay has the save so we should be getting it either tonight or tomorrow. I should be able to play it either day. After that though I will be gone. I will leave turn orders for about 3 or 4 turns (not that anyone will play that many ).

I will probably be completely gone with no internet access from the 8th through the 16th of this month. I say probably because my wife and I are going to Maui for our anniversary, but if her mom continues to get worse we might not go.

        • Hope it all works out well for you and your wife, Rhoth.

I am here for that period if need be.

            • The marketplaces will be more useful right now Jon. We need more gold. The libraries will only be useful for their culture in the two cities I had named, though we should build more libraries later on when we have the chance. When the culture borders expand in those particular cities then all of our northern cities can grow to size 6 with harbors...they can't right now.

              • 330ad Turn Orders

Hope finished granary. Starts settler at 2spt.

3 workers on hill near Resurrection move 7-8 to hill north of Resurrection.

Work force on coast in Memory to move to newly mined hill.

3 workers on Renewal grassland will mine. Workforce on Renewal gold hill moved to mined grassland. 1 of the remaining workers will move 4-8 to last forest and begin the chop. Last remaining worker will move 7 to gold hill. My reasoning for this is that these tiles won’t be needed for a little while yet so I only want to use up two workers to finish them. The last three in that five stack we had will mine the last Hope grassland next turn and then move south.

Worker south of Phoenix should be finished roading. Move him 1 onto the hill.

                • 340ad Turn Orders

Rush harbor in Irony so that both New Voice and Irony will complete their builds next turn.

3 workers on Renewal grassland will move 4-7 and mine the last Hope grassland.

3 workers on hill north of Resurrection will road the tile.

Lone worker on hill southwest of Phoenix will road in preparation for a quick journey from the settler to the new city (which will be 1-1-1 of Phoenix and will need a name when it’s done).

3 workers on hill near New Voice will road the tile where they just completed the mine.

Work force in New Voice hill 7-8 moved to newly mined (but unroaded) hill.

Work force on one of Hope’s mined grassland to move to mined hill vacated by New Voice. Should move Hope up to 4spt

                  • 350ad Turn Orders

Irony will complete harbor. Next build to be a library. All work force in Irony to be moved to coast tiles. Irony will run at 1spt for a little while, but it will have 2 fpt and once it grows to size 4 it will have 3 spt again.

New Voice will complete library. Next build to be a barracks. All work force in New Voice to be moved to the three mined grassland tiles. New Voice will run at 4spt for eight turns, and then when it grows we can join a worker and it will have 10spt.

3 workers on Hope grassland will move 3-2-2 to eventually join up for a five worker chop team near Phoenix and Seabiscuit.

3 workers on hill near New Voice will move 9-6 and mine hill north of Seabiscuit to give that city a second mined hill to work when it grows to size 2. Also, they will be done at the same time the three workers from up north will be arriving so the five worker chop team can start with one worker left over.

                    • 360ad and beyond

That’s about as far as I’ve worked things out for now. While I’m gone the game most likely won’t even get to 350ad at the slow rate it’s going, but if it does get to 360ad both Phoenix and Seabiscuit will grow and Phoenix will complete a library. It should start on a harbor. The two 3-worker stacks should combine into a 5-worker chop stack and should build a forest on the tile 4 of Seabiscuit (just to avoid wasting worker turns). The leftover worker should head toward the iron mountain to road and mine (just don’t connect the road to the main network yet).

If anyone has anything else to add (or if I missed something )please do so. Thanks.

EDIT: BTW, if RP doesn't get us the save before Friday and someone else plays 320ad before me, the turn orders are on the page before this one.

                      • Enjoy your trip. Things are settling down for me and Reddi has gone through his first critical week after surgery. I should have some time for Vox and will take a look over your orders. They look good but it doesn't hurt to have another look.

                          As per Rhoth's orders.
                          No gold from GoW.

                          Treasury at 138 plus 27gpt.

                          PP in 18 turns.

                          Granary in hope next turn.

Renewal now will produce a harbour in 5.

The New Voice a library in 3.

                          And that's about it.

Please do. I just noticed and fixed an error regarding Hope's granary. I originally had it shown as being completed in 340 not 330.

I am unsure about our long term strategy

do we still ahve space to grow?

                              • Last question first - Do we still have space to grow? Yes - but only one more city, then that's it.

As far as our long-term strategy is concerned ... it would be just as that of the Platypus - one of survival.

Do we need a dedicated thread for this? I say no.

I am I being to blatant here, or does anyone else see any futher insight into our current condition?
