I don't trust the Warmongers, and here's why.

They're scared.

They want help and assistance. Whereas they once underestimated the Neu Demogypticans, they are now shaking in their chain-mail boots at the thought of them. They saw how powerful they were in war, and they know that the Arabs hate China. We've seen the Chinese building their cities on hills, wasting space, resources, and shields. We know also that they have no access to iron, and horses, I believe. Without these, how can they ever fight effectively? They know the Arabs are up to know good, and they've rightly decided that they would like to destroy them. They've noticed that we are gaining power, and they want our protection. Perhaps we would be wise to give it to them until the Arab threat is removed, but in that case I'd suggest taking care of Arabia and China before we discover a technology that my friend the sybyl calls 'Invention'.

...And as for the sybyl...She is just a friend!! REALLY!!

Mr.WIA -- Contact ND and chat it up with them. Let them know we're shopping around for a deal on Currency and trying to find the best price. Find out from them how much they'd charge us in gold for Currency.

NucWinter -- You need to post all correspondence to and from Vox in this thread. I can't tell if you've written Vox or if they've written us unless you do so.

Contact Vox, let them know we're going to try to get a good price from ND for currency and we'd like to split the costs with them. Also ask them if they plan to sell Currency to GS and if so, we'd rather that GS, Vox, and RP split the cost 3 ways than to have one of us get the benefit from the additional sale.

Also, let me know if you hear anything from Legoland. Vondrack sent me a PM this morning asking to chat, but he's AWAY right now. I'm curious to see if he's going to offer us the same deal he offered you.

The only people we sold it to was Vox for 49. It is
becoming very difficult to crack some of the trade
cartels.

We are negotiating with Vox to trade them Construction
for Monotheism. They want Construction and 110 gold.
If Roleplay would be interested in sharing the gold
cost we would be willing to share Monotheism with you
(we might as well start doing the tech purchase
sharing too since the other teams are).

I replied that it was a bad deal, as Vox gets Monotheism for free. I told Ghengis we'd check with Vox to see if we could get a better deal and that we were interested in doing tech cooperation with GoW as GS & Vox appear to have the same sort of arrangement.

p.s. I am suspicious about this deal, and I doubt that GoW only sold Poly to Vox ... but at this point it does us no good to argue about it. We want to keep GoW on good terms to balance against ND, and we also want to start working on getting friendlier with Vox.

Deal with Legoland, struck today in chat with Vondrack:

Lego-RP Monarchy Trade Agreement of 1100BC

Hereby, the parties involved, Legoland and Roleplayers, agree upon the
following:

1) Legoland agrees to not sell, trade, or gift Monarchy to any other
team, but Roleplayers only.

2) Roleplayers agree to start paying 10 gold per turn on Turn 77
(1100BC) and keep doing so for the total of 20 consecutive turns
(paying 200 gold total in this way).

3) Legoland agrees to gift ("offer"+"accept") the technology of
Monarchy to Roleplayers on Turn 81 (1000BC), so that Roleplayers
receive it and can use it in whatever way they see fit from Turn 82
(975BC) onwards.

4) Roleplayers agree to pay an additional sum of 50 gold to Legoland
on Turn 102.

5) Both parties agree to keep this trade agreement top secret, never
revealing any details to a third party.

We agree to this treaty.

We are currently researching currency. But we will not be ready with it for another several turns. We'll let you know if we have it. Do you know what you would be willing to pay for it.

As for the NAP we can prolong it for another 20 turns would that be okay for you. Our Relationship has always been peacefull and shall stay that way.

Sounds all good here, really. With your permission, Supreme Beatitude Togas, I will convey the acceptance of the non-agression pact to them and any replies on the Currency deal.

Mr.Wia -- Go ahead and sign a new Non-Agg for 20 more turns. Also inquire as to what they will charge for Currency. Let them know that we are working on Monarchy and should have it soon. We can't trade it directly for Currency, it's research expense was far more expensive for us, but we may be willing to trade it for two techs, an advanced tech, and/or some gold.

NucWinter -- Contact Vox and express to them our extreme regret for the affairs of today, and for the cold reception they received upon landing on our continent. Explain to them that we have agreed to a pact with ND and GoW regarding the settlement of our continent and that if we hadn't agreed, they would surely band together against us. Tell them that we will honor our Non-Agg pact with them no matter what happens with their settlement, but that we urge them to please not start a war with ND and GoW ... both of whom are itching to fight someone.

Tell them that ND will be offering us a price for Currency soon (MrWIA is waiting for their reply) and we will convey to them the price and split it with them so long as they agree not to trade/sell it to GS. If GS gets involved, we want GS to pay 1/3 of the price.

1. The extension of the Non Agression Pact for 20 turns beyond 1000BC is now official and sealed.

2. We need several turns for currency still so we will contact you if we are almost done with it.

3. We are looking to get Republik which will fit our system we have in the game best. Monarchy is not bad but it is not that valuable for us so i guess we can not come to a trading agreement there.
