There is a rumor in town that the great Hernan de Calamari did not die in a cave, but on his boat on the sea, and that when his boat came in, it was found that a giant Iberian Squid had suffocated him with its suckers while at the same time the Squid was netted and stabbed to death with Señor Calamari’s net and spear.

A most foul thing it is, Pikesfan. No more than a rumor, born of malice. Do not pay heed to such things, young Master Jordi.

Oh? I thought it sounded rather heroic. I guess people confused the deaths of Sñrs Dejon and Calamari because they were so close together.

Aye, yes, the scribes had recorded much about our illustrious ancestors, Dejon! How tragic... We have lost too much. It is painful to read of what life must have been like in those idyllic days. The mention of the legendary founder of the Calamari line - Hernan the First - brings tears to my eyes. There is indeed a statue in Stormia today where he is still honored as being one of the prophets that helped bring the True Faith to that land. He holds a sword in one hand and the tentacle of a giant squid in the other, for as Jordi Pikesfan once recalled, he died in battle with such a horrendous beast.

We must bring back our traditions, defeat the Legomen, and try to build a new Spain here based on our old ways. We must not lose sight of what we were, for it was glorious indeed.
