Looking at the 90 BC screenshot: when ND finishes clearing the jungle S of Marlowa, they can attack Santiago, Leon, or Zaragosa after only 1 turn in the jungle. We have to be prepared for a large (i.e. 10+) stack of Ansars if they take this route. Also expect then to have at least a few pikes in such a stack. Remember, Ansars are weak defensively and they would be foolish not to cover them for that turn. Because of this fact, I expect them to road that square before commencing an attack from that location. Otherwise they would blow their cover a turn early because at the pikes would need 2 turns to reach that square and they would be visible to us on the first turn.

What about other attack routes: Any other land route, other than to Bilbao, takes them through too much jungle. If they go after Bilbao, they have wasted their time attacking a non-productive city, and give our units plenty of time to launch a counter-attack against them. I would be of a fient, like 3-5 units against Bilbao though, in an attempt to draw us away from whatever their main attack may be. The only other option for ND is a sea attack. If they do this they will probably go down the east coast. Our warrior guard will be able to sea such an attack early on and give us plenty of time to react.

Nice analysis Señor Rubris, I'm glad to see you back when we need every man we have in Spain. I expect the to attack Santiago or Zaragoza and maybe a landing near Vigo.

There is one problem for ND: IF they march though the jungle with pikes defending the Ansars, they waste the movement bonus that the Ansars have. They will not be able to 'surprise' us. I use the " because there is now of course little surprise left.

However remember that they still might not know we know...don't tell them that we know. Don't let anything release that we know.

Oh, and as for the chat, d'oh, but at least we know more of when it was now.

(If that ever becomes important, I can probably discover the correct time from my logs...they babbled about it a little later too)

My dear lords, I have been looking at the picture that dejon made and which he posted in the ordersthreat:

You can see a stack of 10 riders northeast of Mavdad. Now I have been wondering why I don't hear any ND people screaming of fear.

I assume that the guys in the ND team are still the same as during the Luxian war. Do you remember it? ND got scared when they saw Luxian warriors just 3 tiles awauy from their cities, they got scared when the Luxiand founded a city direct beside theirs and they got totally mad when the Luxians moved through their territory.

WHY ANENT THOSE GUYS SCREAMING NOW? this is far more scary than two or three warriors several tiles away. They couldn't even agree to a NAP with us.

Lords, ND is cooperating with GoW, whether they do that to give Gow the illusion that they (ND) will attack us, to backstab GoW then, or do that because they have a normal alliance with GoW, is not clear, but ND is cooperating with GoW.

Mavdad will fall to the Rider's! This I predict for the Alliance of GoW/RP shall prevail.

We MUST demand Chivalry out of them as a good faith sign. This is frightening.

If we don't get it, the deal is off, for they obviously are trying to trick us or something.

It is in s time like this that I almost long for the stability of the monarchy. If we had a warrior-king to lead our armies then we could just drag out the war until the poor sods are thrown into anarchy...
