That's exactly what I would like, an official agreement to trade Horseback Riding for Writing when they finish it.

But we've been trying to get them to give us an answer to that question for 3 weeks now and they refuse to answer it.

As far as I'm concerned this refusal to negotiate represents a state of war between our two civs on their part and I'm slowly starting to agree with them.

Then we have 10-12 turns to explore as much as possible.

Or.....if it helps to lock in an agreement now.
Perhaps option 2.
We agree to leave and just get their maps at a later date. If not directly from them, then perhaps another team ?

We must also be wary about being able to trade MM before RP.
ND are tryng to get RP as an ally...they may prefer to wait and trade with RP.
And also we must watch our war timetable. If we join Lux, we could find ourselves at war with ND before we can trade.

1. We need to trade maps, but Roleplay deems trading maps out of game is not in the spirit of the game. We then are prepared to offer to trade world maps as soon as either of our teams gets mapmaking.
2. Our warrior is in your claimed territory. We will divert him back north if this deal goes through.
3. The Glory of War is prepared to offer your team a special tech deal: We give you horseback riding now, and you give us writing when you discover it.

I reccomend that you accept this offer; you might never get another one like it. We give you a tech now for a tech later: this requires honour. The Glory of War is confident that the Roleplay team is honourable in their contracts.

From what I've gathered from talking with Roleplayers they are still planning on getting Horseback Riding from Lux.

That means either Lux is going to give it to them and hope we don't find out about it or they are trying to scam Roleplay.

I do recall we all exclaiming that Lux & RP got in bed with each other very early in the game.

We should remember that each team is playing to win, and we must expect double-crossing to occur.

We need to find out what we will have to trade for Writing. That is the number one priority right now. Why isn't adaMada replying to Panzer32's emails?

If necessary start emailing them 3-4 times a day. Or better, since adaMada isn't emailing Panzer, I think Panzer should email Arnelos, Togas, and Dejon and let them know that adaMada isn't replying to the emails.

I have a feeling it is because it takes too long for them to make a decision.

Remember they had to have a poll to decide whether to do the jpg map trade.

They will poll everything ... draft responses ... get the legal boys to check & recheck.

3-4 days later, we will get a 1.5 page document which offers no solutions but rather why our offers are not acceptable.

We should ask them up front...what do they want...
Forget about offering up deals..they just overanalyse them to death and come up with a no decision.

AdaMada isn't replying because I haven't sent anything yet! They did reply to our previous mail a few days back, though. I guess, since no one has any objections to the mail I posted on the last page, that it is good to go. I am going to send it in about 3 hours when I have time.

I think the consensus is JUST FIND OUT ABOUT WRITING.

I don't want their map, and I think it is a dead issue. They are trying to Roleplay and everytime we bring up a map trade we are asking them to cheat in a way.

Forget the rest of it, just act like we are average terms and ask what deal they would agree to to trade us Writing when they research it.

URGENT!

Panzer, you need to send a memo to Roleplay stating:

"We need to find out what you want in return for Writing when you finish it. We are saddened that you are not involved with the tech alliance the other three civs are active in and you are currently the only civ on the continent without Horseback Riding as we traded it to Lux 4 turns ago and to NeuDemo 2 turns ago and both of them declared in a treaty not to trade it to your team."

Lux IS trying to trade it to them in 5 turns and has told them they don't currently have Horseback Riding.

The above memo will alert Roleplay "accidentally" that Lux is lying to them.

We are having a chat with Roleplay now... would have posted earlier, but we are continuing now...

key points:

-proof that Lux is lying: Roleplay said they offered HBR to them.

-deals for writing for presentation:

1. 20g and HBR now for removal of warriors and writing in 4 turns
2. HBR for removal and writing in 4 turns.
3. HBR now and 60 gold in 4 turns for removal and writing in 4 turns.
4. 35 gold for removal and writing in 4 turns.

Option 4 ...... 35 gold for writing sounds good.

We dont have to give them anything now.
So they cant reneg on the deal later.
And they dont get HBR at all.
And then we see if Lux actually does double crosses us and gives them HBR.

Perhaps Lux wont give it to them, after they find out we are talking war over it.

Then we can sell it to RP and recoup our money or some other tech.
