They should of asked....
We could of done the same thing for them....maybe.
Should we stake out our territory now ?
Early during the game, we know that Lux & ND tried to come to an agreement about dividing the land.
If lux likes the idea of these negotiations.. maybe we should let him know what territory we claim as ours.
Divide up the land now, so there is no stepping on toes later.
If RP & Lux are in bed, we need to stay on their good side. These negotiations could only foster goodwill between us. And get a 3 vs 1 against ND.
If we planted our next city in our bottom right hand corner..surely our borders would meet ?
We need to explore in ND direction as soon as a warrior becomes available...(Stating the obvious)
I have opened the save and had a closer look at the game.
Lux must of planted their city right on the northern tip of ND.
My guess is
1. Yes they may be trying to hem in ND, but
2. I think the real reason is that they needed that horse resource.
Being the Ottomans, they are most likely wanting to build up a horsie army, which they can upgrade to their UU....(Just like us)
Or, they might be just trying to deny ND the horses for the same reason.
Whatever, ND have got to be pretty pissed !!
This is good news for us
I am concerned about how close Lux is to us.
If they can plant a city on top of ND, then they must be closest civ to us.
Does this make Lux our prefered target ??
I say probably yes.
We must see where our diplomacy leads us.
Also note, that ND have an easy to get horse resource south of their capital. If lux was trying to deny them the resource, they have failed.
And another thought
(And blatant attempt at increasing my post count - I want a personal avatar)
I usually give up exploring around about now. We still dont know our local territory...and there isnt much use in exploring further south than ND.
Basher Jnr should continue until he reaches RP.
If there are any additional civs on our continent, we would of heard about it now.
It is unlikely that there are any more goodie huts.
I think Basher should perhaps swing around ND and return home on the east side of ND (Assuming he will be allowed to pass through Lux.
Basher Jnr could continue to circle the continent or return home also.
Basher Jr could be an ideal unit for a Golden Age Contract with RP! He would already be in place. Before we decide to do a GA contract with anyone, I think we need to discuss it further in the thread it was first brought up at (which I'll go do now...).

Bullcrap there is! If you haven't noticed NO ONE IS EAGER TO TRADE ANY MAP OTHER THAN MINIMAPS.
The only way to get a map of the continent is to do it ourselves and to do as much of it now so that we will have an idea of the territory before it is settle by the other teams and in their cultural area.
This will prove most invaluable to our military campaigns later.
I think that there is no immediate benefit.
Our first war will be local to us...(Hopefully)
Map info will definately be needed for the next war.
But by then, map making will be discovered, and hopefully teams will be more inclined to trade maps.
At the moment, we can only do it by jpg and we are all still playing a cat & mouse game.
** Note, that this is how I play against the AI **
Humans can be different, and you are closer to them than I. If you dont think map trading will occur, then you have my full agreement on continuing our exploration.
Maps are incredibly more valuable now. You trade the AI your map because the AI already knows where your units and resources are.
Human players don't (unless they cheat) I think it will be a very rare occasion when we can get any kind of map from another team, especially since we are considered warmongers.
If all of the Luxury clumps are in the south (we have one Wine clump and have just discovered a Silk clump) then I want to know where they are and in whose hands they end up.
I have a bad feeling Roleplay may end up controlling virtually all the luxuries on our continent except for our Wine.
If we do map our entire continent think of the gold we can get for selling it to teams NOT on our continent.
1. Do not move the warriors.
2. Move the warriors north.

just do it for like one or two turns, until we get things worked out with Roleplay. If you don't, they may lose trust of us.
If we really don't value trust that much, then go ahead and move the warriors south. I just think that since we can't settle there anyway, it is not really our problem. If (when ) we determine Roleplay's territory to be too big, then we can send them a message saying we do not agree with their territory claim, and walk all over it.
That said, I really do think their claimed territory should be much smaller, if it exists at all.

The warriors are moving south. There never was any intention of running scared from Roleplay. Their demand was completely ludicrous and on par with: " We are the color blue, give us all of your cities."
I have no intention of invading their cultural borders, but they cannot claim half the continent and 90% of the luxuries for themselves without even attempting to build cities there. One warrior cannot claim half the continent.
If they are cramped then they can give us their map as proof and we will back off. No map, then we must continue to explore.
