Perhaps I should play civ more..but thats a pretty damn good starting position.
I actually prefer starting in Jungle just to make it more challenging, but against humans..I dont think we could ask for better.

GhengisFarb...don’t archers upgrade to guerillas now? I never built them in Civ3 Classic but their usefulness has been extended in PTW...( I am yet to play a full game in PTW as I have only recently upgraded - PTW still not officially released in Australia)

If we can snag the pyramids, I think we should go for it.
The great library is a must, so we can concentrate on our war machine.

The GhengisFarb build queue sounds fine with me.

I would put our chances of being able to build the Great Library and the Pyramids at 95%.

I would put our chances of building the Colossus, the Great Library, and the Pyramids at around 50%.

You will get that if you know anything about modern Russian history...

i'm i reading that correctly? you think that we a virtual lock on the two most valuable wonders in the game? while our staring position is good, it's certainly not that good, there are six other very capable human teams, and i don't think our chances are double the average, so i'm saying that we have more like a 30% chance of building both wonders on the high end of estimates, though i may even be overstating that, we may only have a 20% chance building either the great library or the pyramids if we go with a low ball estimate

i think that at least the builders and Gathering Storm will attempt to build wonders, even if none of the other teams do, and the wonders they are going to go for are going to be the great library and the pyramids, so even if it is only us three going for those wonders, i don't think we'd get both, when you throw in the other four teams i'm not sure if we'd get either

am i missing something? why do you think our chances are so good at building almost every wonder in the ancient age?

Yes, I think it is virtually impossible to prevent us from building those two wonders.

We have 12 tiles that can generate 2 food and 2 shields each, (the MAXIMUM possible under despotism with the exception of the cattle/wheat resource whose max is 3/1/2). Not only can our capital and immediately surrounding cities have maximum production but they can grow quickly and utilize more tiles.

The other teams are going to build cities based on the terrain, and then grow form there. Our cities can immediately begin on Wonders as we will have the three camps to produce the units to defend them leaving them to concentrate on wonders and having a 25 to 20 turn head start over the other teams.

We have at least one luxury and may find a second allowing our cities to use even more tiles in production.

There is nothing to prevent us from completing the Pyramids short of us choosing not to build it. The only thing that can prevent us from building the Great Library is not getting Literacy before that city builds the Palace.

while i do agree that we have probably the best starting position in the game, we must plan on one or two other teams having maybe not equal, but at least comparable starting locations, and we must plan on several teams attempting to build the same wonders that we are

we are one of five civs with masonry and Lego and RP are closer to literature than what we are, and lego will probably pick up bronze working then beeline for literature

one question i have is even if we can be the first civ to build the pyramids, wouldn't an equal amount of shields in military units be a better investment for us? i'd rather have the military units personally

also is the location beside of the fish still going to be our first camp? if so i think we would have enough time to move across the river to the shielded grassland build a mine and a road there, then build a road all the way to that location, if i'm right it should take us 17 turns to grow to size 3 when we could build our first settler, and all of that construction would take 15 turns

                    GF,
Is it possible to mail the save to us? I mean, we can't post the save here, and there's no consensus about post it in the public forum. I can see (in your excellent graphics ) how strong and powerful we are, but I like details such as the top five cities, a travel by the advisors screens, etc...
                    Thanks in advance.

Ahem... Ghengis, you e-mailed me the save to Spain. When I try to open it, the game ask me for the password of España...
If you send me the save you received, and tell what did you move and all, I can reproduce these moves and have a perfect vision of our Empire.

Did you double check to make sure the game said "Warmonger" cause if don't open it through the multiplayer option it will sometimes randomly open on another teams log in.

UPDATE: After double checking numbers I've decided to move W and road the game tile after the grassland. The capitol will expand in cultural influence right before it grows to size 2 and will need a second 2/2/2 tile. The mined wineland wouldn't be ready in time but we will still have time to complete the road to the first camp location in time.
