/me is in awe at Vel's ability to generate PC.

Are you all in the chat room #GatheringStorm? For some reason I'm not allowed in.

                Vel-

you could send a pm to whomever your mysterious contact is and tell him to stop delaying the save. If it gets here soon, we will be much more likely to agree to something.

No, not really. So far, I was right on spot of what Vox could have as military force, they have so far shown a little less then what I predicted the first turn of war. And even the 23 immortals RP is talking about fits...

Let's do, just for fun, a little analysis. We currently produce 137 shields each turn, and get enough cash to rush another 30 of them (if we use the cash to upgrade, we gain 60 shields). That makes for over 5 good units each turn, meaning pikes, med infs, horsemen, or even knights. Multiply that by 10 turns, and you get an extra force of 50 units, quite impressive at this point in game. We have about 10 units right now, so without a war, we can be at 60 units in 10 turns

Vox has at most 30 units now, but if they are all immortals, they won't have enough funds left to upgrade more warriors. They produce little less then 50 shields each turn, so at most they also can produce 50 units in the next 10 turns, all of them warriors. Further, they make about 40 gold each turn, enough for one immortal upgrade. In total I would estimate their continous unit production ability at 3 good units each turn maximum (meaning 1 warrior upgraded to immortal, 1 spear, and an extra immortal build themselves, or upgraded with whatever cash they receive from abroad). So, in 10 turns, we woud have over 60 units, which we can use against 60 of their units, but with the important difference that we would come with a mixed force of slowmovers and mobile units, protected by pikes, while they only have immortals and spears. We should be able to win that.

If we look at 15 turns, we could go in with 85 units, to face their 75, again with the difference in quality. They could have upgraded to pikes around that time (at expense of having fewer units), but we should have knights, and will do all in our power to keep them from getting iron. That's an uneven battle.

This all assumes one major battle at the end of the period, if they would attack us before that (very likely), they will normally lose more troops then us, if we play it right. So, the numbers lean further to our advantage. Further, if we start advancing on their territory, they lose production ability quickly, while they can't seriously damage our production ability.

I think one of the main problems is going to be how we get our troops to the front line fast enough, so that the front hasn't moved before our units get there. I don't think many will complain about the lighthouse for long, as it means we can use boats for slowmovers, or can bypass jungle with our Chickens or catapults.

Yep, being in a chat with Vel is a very scary thing. I can well imagine that a non-native english speaker would find it difficult to keep up with reading the text as it flashes over the screen.

That's only on a good day, Deep-O....some days I don't have enough of a caffiene buzz to pull that off....

OTOH, days like today....LOL....I've been jamming! Typing here, coming up with some GREAT events for CB (doing the Fury family events first....)...good day! Don't know that my boss would agree that it was productive, but....he's not here!

DeepO, I will not argue your analysis, since I agree with its general point: that we've got a sizeable production advantage. What I am saying is that we need to turn it into an offensive, which makes everything that much toughter (consider that some of our production needs to go to Galleys...lots of Galleys if we actually want to bring a good chunk of our force up there in the same turn). I doubt Vox will put everything they have right now into a big attack on our most heavily defended settlement. They'll retreat, and their surviving Immortals are going to give us a heck of a time if we pursue. And add the (very real) possibility that they're getting a large amount of gpt to upgrade their Warriors, and it becomes clearer that we're not going to be swatting a fly here.
