*** Please don't post in this thread! ***

I'll use this thread to post all PMs I receive from the legoland ambassador. If you want to comment on anything, please open a new thread, or post in another one. I'd like to keep this clean as much as possible.

Also note that most of what is said here is not of interest to you, I just keep this repository so anyone can view the exact wording if he wants to. And if anyone wonders, I do have permission to do this, and gave my permission to post my PMs to the lego's forum.

Hello, I am the newly appointed ambassador to Gathering Storm from Legoland. I have already announced this on the Gathering Storm thread but I am sending this in case you did not read that. I also read your posts in the Legoland thread so I will be using apolyton PM in further negotiations.

Also, if citizins of Legoland are mini-figs how do you refer to the citizins of Gathering Storm- Gathering Stormolians?

Welcome! I noticed the forum post, but I thought I'd reply you twice. It seems, judging all publicly available information, that we are the two first ambassadors to meet, which is another reason for celibration

As to the PMs: I think it to be the best medium (especially if you have e-mail notification on, so you're warned timely), with only the problem that privacy concerns on 'poly require us to state that we give the other the right to quote from our PMs...

Normally, I'll always be responding you within 24 hours (last evening I wasn't on the net, or it would have been sooner), if you don't get a response within that time please contact Meshelic. He is backup-ambassador to LegoLand. Please allow some time for all discussion as well, if I get a trade offer from you, I'll most certainly have to discuss it with my teammates. But in each case, I'll confirm receipt of your (important) messages.

BTW, please don't think I was laughing at you, but I know a bit about lego myself, and thought it to be normal that citizens from LegoLand were called mini-figs. There was a bit of confusion as to how people from GS are called, I'm not sure if we now are stormers, or stormriders. I'll check, and get back to you

I'm thinking on a bit more fleshed out contact possibilities between our two people, once I've found the time to write it out, and let it approve in our forum I'll send it to you.

      See you soon,
      DeepO

        Thank you for replying twice

My first offical diplomatic misson is to ask if there are any other E-mail addresses we should send our savegame to. Currently we send it only to [edit: email removed from NYE]

And about mini-figs, I know some about lego to and was merely using them as an example (though a recent poll in Legoland showed that most liked the term Legomen better)

          Ho, no problem

I'll ask the team what the second e-mail address should be, so far it is my understanding that if NYE can't play, he will warn beforehand. Our backup player is Sir Ralph, but I don't think I have his e-mail address. I'll ask how to procede.

Further: please respond (in a public thread) on how to use these PMs, I haven't quoted any of yours so far, out of fear for the 'poly admins... If you just state somewhere that it's okay to quote them, I'd be super happy (if you don't want it, that's fine as well, but please tell me then.)

If the team likes legomen over minifigs, I'll use that term in the future. Although I have to admit I personally like mini-figs more, it has kind of cute feeling to it that legomen hasn't. But that's personal opinion, of course

One morre question: what time zone are you, and is there a time at which you're more online then others? I'm from Belgium, GMT +1 myself, and normally I check at work, but will surely see any PMs around 7-8 PM (which is about now, to give an indication). It could proof useful to know these kind of things, for faster replies...

          greetz,

I have posted in the Legoland thread confirming that you can quote my PMs. As for my time zone, it is almost exactly opposite yours ,I live in Alaska where time is GMT -9.

BTW, I also like 'mini-fig' better

              Thanks for the confirmation!

Re: timezone: this should mean that there is at most a 12 hour delay when posting to each other, but OTOH it also means that chatting won't be easy. Oh well... some of the joys of international communities

Re: the second e-mail: could you send the save games to Sir Ralph too? Normally NYE will take care of it, but just in case he can't make it... his e-mail address is sirralph_at_gmx_dot_com.

              Speak to you soon,

                Hello again!

I hope everything went well with you and your team, it has been too long since we last met. I also hope that your team is still happily approaching the goals you set out to reach, and that you were fortunate to settle a new, fertile holding for your people, whether they are called legomen or mini-figs In our empire, everything is proceeding as planned as well, we're quite happy with the terrain our Storm Gods have given us to work.

We haven't actively discussed this issue with you before, but recently our citizens have decided that it would be appropriate for the ambassadors to contact all other tribes, and ask if it would be possible to trade minimap information. This, because we fully recognise that trade will be what makes our civilization grow, but we can't trade as long as we haven't met. Our primary concern is that meeting other teams is going too slowly, we would like to do something about that.

Would you be interested in such a deal with us? Of course, negotations have just begun, but we were thinking of offering our 3950 BC minimap to you (3950 and not 4000 because we spent one turn wandering around with our settler, we don't want to disadvantage you by offering a map with only 9 tiles lit when you'd be offering a 25 tile map), and if we find we are close, we might arrange for a meeting place were our explorers could meet, preferably somewhere in the middle of our two capitals.

Of course, we would ask that you keep our minimap to your own, and we solemnly promise we'd be keeping your minimap secret to other tribes. You know our foremost goal in this game is to play honorably, so I hope you'll trust us on this.

Could you be so kind in discussing this with your team? We would very much like to start trading with the brave builders from legoland, as our goals aren't that far from each other.

                Kind regards,
                DeepO

As I still had no answer from the legoland ambassador, I forwarded my message above, with a short note of explanation to jack_www

                  Hello,

I sent this message a few days ago to Quantum_mechani, but haven't received any indication that he read the message. So, I'm forwarding it to you, hoping it will reach your team... I don't know if Quantum_mechani is still active (his last post was nearly a month ago), if not, could it be possible to send another ambassador to us?

                  Thanks,
                  DeepO

Got a message from Jack_www that quantum_mechani is no longer active, and that they are searching for a replacement. Currently, Vondrack is our contactpoint. I forwarded the message to him.

                      Dear DeepO,

Not knowing if you received this, I'm forwarding it to you too. Please let me know if a deal would be possible.

Thank you for forwarding the message to me and accept my apologies for quantum_mechani's lack of duty fulfillment. We are kind of struggling with the fact that about 50% of our members are actually inactive as far as the PtW demogame is concerned...

Jack_www has posted your message in our team forum for discussion and I or a deputy of mine shall contact you as soon as our team agrees on whether to trade 3950BC minimaps or not. Considering the usual pace of events, I believe it should take no longer than two or three days at most.

In the meantime, give our warmest regards to everybody at Gathering Storm, please.

                      Take care,
                      Radek aka vondrack

                        Thanks Vondrack,

I sympathize with the activity problems within your team. We have similar concerns, as NYE and Meshelic, who both were very active, suddenly had rl issues which urged them to step down from their positions temporarily. I'm hoping that in a few months time, they are able to pick up the pace again.

We are coping well, but it can be hectic, I hope your team will overcome these problems too. I wish you all the best of luck!

                          Dear DeepO,

as no member of our team objected trading 3950BC minimaps with Gathering Storm, I am happy to proceed with the trade as proposed few days ago. Here is our 3950BC minimap:

Us this link to download the image, please:

Be so kind and let me know after you download the image to your local storage space. I will remove it from the server then, as the directory there is not password protected and theoretically anyone can have a peek...

I believe that the easiest way for you to send us your 3950BC minimap would be to my email. The address is vondrack@jimaz.cz.

                          With the best regards,

                          Legoland Foreign Minister
After this, I sent a short message by e-mail, attaching our minimap, and thanking him for the trade.

                            Greetings vondrack,

Just a short note, with what we hope will be news... We just ran across our first barbarian camp. This seems news, as we heared quite some comments on the general forum, assuming there were no barbarians, or only sedentary barbs in this game we're playing.

We don't know if you already saw barbs yourself, but as a kind warning, we decided to tell all teams we have diplomatic contact with of 'our' barbarians, in the hopes you can protect yourself against possible outbreaks.

                            Best wishes in this game,
                            DeepO of Gathering Storm.

                              Greetings DeepO,

I feel almost ashamed by your kind and fair conduct of the game. Even though I do recall noticing comments on a presumably low barbarian difficulty setting in the main PtWDG forum, it did not occur to me to tell other teams after we had met "our" barbarians few (10?) turns ago.

We have already had quite some troubles with them, having to rush production in order to defend our cities and even getting our mercenary promoted all the way up to elite in the process of razing one of their camps. Barbarians seem to be numerous...

Anyway, thank you for your message and know that you are not the only one having to deal with the annoying suckers...

                              Kindest regards,
