    Ready to plop settler.

btw, someone turned Accelerated production on. Now it cannot be turned off. I suppose that is what happened to our game.

/Edit. Only alexman and Randolph on line. Maybe it waits until tomorrow, only... I do not know if I will be home early enough to finish it and send inside the 24 hour window... Conundrum. Hopefully more Americans will show up. I can email post settler screen shot.

Yeah, let's wait. Particularly considering the change in the situation (AP is now on)

Should we bring up the AP issue in the general Forum?

I don't know if we can Randolph. As I said, we only have 24 hours (less if we live up to the pledge). I have to work. Being home at 7pm is early for me on a Monday, especially since I did not go into the office today (I was hovering around here all day).

I feel I have a good handle on the consensus of the team. Theseus was nervous about clearing the forest, but I think we might be able to compensate. let's wait for other Americans.

I did turn 1 with the input of 4 or 5 people.

Yes. I doubt people will want to junk it. Especially given a full day has been devoted by 40 or 50 people.

I see your point. I'd also like to set an example of fast play.

Hopefully no one will want to junk it, particularly due to the high likelihood that it will happen again.

Want to bet on who the genius was... Well it could be the honest mistake of anyone I suppose.

This turn is not too difficult: Research Wheel, start chopping forest, start building Warrior.

One idea to take full advantage of the forest shields at the expense of one food:

Build a Warrior in 4 turns by switching to the to a 2-shield tile for one turn. At turn 5, the forest will be chopped giving us another instant Warrior.

[Edit1: do workers work twice as fast with accelerated production?

Edit2: Duh, Warriors cost 5 shields in AP, so we can't take full advantage of the 10 shields. We could build a 15-shield Temple on turn 5, or a 20-shield barracks a couple of turns after that]

Check alexman. Will squirm to get the 10 free shields if possible. If I cannot figure it out, I will be back.

On grass w river: Pop 2 in 4. Warrior in 4. The Wheel in 12.

On forest w river and fur: Pop in 10. Warrior in 2. The Wheel in 10.

Clearing the forest is now 2/3rds of a temple (15 shields). Or 1/3 of a granery (30 shields).

Am thinking of going on forest w river and fur. Build 2 warriors. Meanwhile, worker moves to grass and mines it (same 4 turns). When mine finished, switch pop to grass w river (and mine). Proceed w Warriors/Settler.

I am waiting till the morning though. Unless people show up.

                      Whoa! NO experience with AP...

What do you mean by this: "Clearing the forest is now 2/3rds of a temple (15 shields). Or 1/3 of a granery (30 shields)."

                      ??

Am I crazy, or is this to our benefit? WC madness!!

I know I was an advocate of no super-early temples, but I think we could benefit from one here:
                        • 3950: Start building Warrior - Research Wheel at 100% - work forest - start chopping forest
                        • 3900: Work grassland
                        • 3850: Work grassland
                        • 3800: Warrior built - start building Temple - work grassland
                        • 3750: Work grassland
                        • 3700: Forest chopped - irrigate plains - work forest
                        • 3650: Pop 2 - work grassland/furplains - Temple built - start building settler
                        • 3600: borders expand - worker to forest NE
                        • 3550: Start chopping forest
                        • 3500-3450: Nothing exciting
                        • 3400: Discover wheel - Settler built - build Barracks
                        • 3350: Nothing exciting
                        • 3300: Forest chopped - Irrigate
                        • 3250: Build second city
                        • 3200: Barracks built - build Warrior - move worker to floodplains
                        • 3150: Pop 2 - work both irrigated plains - Veteran Warrior built - Irrigate floodplains

At this point we can start pumping out one Veteran Warrior every turn with a +2 food surplus. We have not wasted any shields in the forest cutting. What do you all think?

We'd be way behind on exploring.

Also, each of those improvements detracts from research at this point.

You're right, I probably got carried away.

But we could build a barracks to hold the 10 shields, which would be completed at 3550 B.C., after our first Warrior. Then we could be pumping out Veteran Warriors (or WC when we hook up horses) between Settlers. We can time the second forest chopping to happen when we are building our Settler, so we don't lose shields.

looks like we'll have to replay this turn.

because Vox didn't set a password and the game got set to AP they're back-tracking a couple of teams to get it sorted out.
If I'm posting here then Counterglow must be down.
