Economy controls all internal building and development, including city build ques.

Tactical is concerned with military planning, gathering map intelligence, formulating threat assessments, etc.

Diplomats would be concerned with finding potential trades, maintaining relations with the other human teams, assembling general intelligence reports, etc.

Decisions on research priorites and goals, deciding to execute trades, decisions of war, peace and alliances would be for all of us. This would mean the slider should be decided by all of us.

2 of us should be set to be the players. One the leader, the other his second in case the leader is unavailable. The leader and his second play the game. The leader should be the arbiter of split decisions within the team. The player must be able to make decisions in the absense of directions from one of the schools. For instance, the player notices a city about to go into disorder, but the economists did not mention it. The player should do what is required for the best results for the team in the game.

Each school decides on it's own leader, or minister. The minister is responsible for ensuring that the duties of the school are performed. All of the members of the school should assist him as best they can. Anyone should feel free to contribute ideas, but it is the duty of the members of the school to get the job done. Each school should post its orders prior to each session so that the player can follow them in playing the game.

It appears that we will be playing PBEM. Each team will be allowed 24 hours with the save. That means the game will go slowly, but have short periods of increased activity as we pour over the save in preparation for doing our turn.

That's all I can think of. Did I miss anything?

      That's a great summary.

It's worth pointing out that since most people have picked Tactical/Economic then those two schools are effectively the same thing because they have (almost) identical staffs.
If I'm posting here then Counterglow must be down.

        Good call FP,

I was hoping Sir Ralph would change his mind, and join the diplomats (seeing his recent victories, from wich we are all still recovering )

btw: has anyone noticed we're back up to 13

Seems that number has some meaning to us
Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing?
Then why call him God? - Epicurus

This is good, because the military is sooo dependant on what is built and when.

Maybe I should start getting nervous about the great number of tactical/economical guys out there. I mean, I've got stocks in tactical schola ( ) but I feel that as far as representation the Diplomats should still get 1/3 equality with the other two....

Don't worry about that Meshelic, and don't push for more members, as you previously said, we'll do fine.

And after all, not many has what it takes for diplomacy...

I'm joking, so please don't crucify this Diplomat.

You new guys should officially sign up for a schola, at least ONE but you may sign up for TWO if you wish. Some like Zeit decided they'd rather not be in two schools, while other may decides to participate in 2/3 of the schools. Your call.

Sign me up for Diplomat and Tactician. If the diplomacy staff is already full, I'll gladly go Economist (I'm a builder at heart).

Need to hear from a couple of people.

                      People unassigned:
                      Conqueror
                      DeepO
                      notyoueither

For myself, I will most likely join Econ and Tactical. Haven't finalised that though.

I think we should allow for people to move later. What do you think?

I don't oppose members switching schola's, although they should say so in a thread somewhere so we can adjust the Schola list....

Can't say for myself that I'll be switching, but I may change my mind someday.

Zeit and others still have decided to wait on deciding which schola to join in addition to the one they already have. No problem with that.

Sign me up for the economic and tactical schola.

I'm not entirely satisfied with the name "Tacticians," though. As I understand it, in standard military usage, "tactics" relates to the pursuit of relatively short-term goals while "strategy" relates to the pursuit of longer-term goals. (For example, tactical bombing involves bombing in direct support of the troops, while strategic bombing involves things like attacking production and infrastructure in the hope of harming the enemy's abilty to fight later.) "Strategists and Tacticans" would be more precise, albeit longer-winded.
