  • Turn 203: 880 AD

    Start
    - ND sends an accepted offer for 150 gold. Accepted. that was the last of the pyament for Elec.

    - RP sends their WM. Accept. Send an accepted offer for our WM as well.

    - Hurricane builds factory, starts hospital (deviation from plans). CH, you're right, it makes a difference: even if it can only grow to size 15, that is an extra 30 bpt. It will cost 2.5 galleons, though, which will need to be compensated somehow. If I count right, it needs one forest chop to an eta -1... but as Hoover is somewhere in between, don't kill me if I'm wrong. Chop postponed to later date, when more accurate estimates can be made.

    - Cyclone builds worker, starts worker.

    - Tornado builds factory. Starts galleon.

    - 1410 gold, 70%, 567 bpt, -15 gpt (eta +1 turn... no need to hurry when we have to wait for GoW)
    - 47 workers

    Moves
In general, the specific worker moves are not covered anymore, it gets too tedious. Only important stuff is mentioned.

    - mine on D-ville 3 completed. SA factory eta -2
    - mine on D-ville 6. SA factory eta -1
    - RR on SA 11 (mountain). SA factory eta -1

    - RR and mine on WW 69. eta factory -1. plan is to chop forest for another -1, if losing the WLTKD doesn't throw my calcs off.

    - RR on Monsoon 99, 69. eta factory -2

    - mine on Inchoff 11, 12. eta market -5 (from 4fpt to 0fpt). RR on last mountain won't help (goes to waste), but currently at 7 spt. It could build a factory in 27 turns, helped by chops that goes down to 21 turns. Worth it? Market afterwards would be build in 6 turns, but we'll be in mob then... no chance for market.

    - Mine on Eli 8. 0fpt, but harbor eta -1.

    - Galley2 moves 8998. All of Antarctica spotted, returns home.
    - our Southern most galley Moves 999, bothering Lego's pickets a bit, they maybe get used to seeing galleys sailing past.
    - our Northern most galleon moves 7787. Will return towards Stormia via the North.
    - Northern most galley moves 666. Spots GoW Galleon.
    - last Galleon (near RP) moves 2222.

    workforce shuffles
    - Cyclone set back to ideal pattern (needs this every turn).
    - Tornado gives mined grass back to Sufa. eta galleon unaffected, eta factory -10.
    -

    Current Builds
long term plans for our cities

    Eli : harbor in 5
    Inchon : aqua in 19
WoC : Iron Works in 4
    Inchoff : market in 8
    Diss : harbor in 1
Santa Ana : factory in 8
    Blizzard : factory in 2
    Monsoon : factory in 12
Arashi : factory in 3(one shield short on eta -1)
WW : factory in 7 (chop for -1?)
    Tempest : hospital in 3
    SS: worker in 1
    Hurricane : hospital in 7(chop for -1?)
    OG : factory in 12
EotS : Hoover Dam in 3 (+3 shields, need to be given to Hurricane when possible)
    BB : factory in 2
    Cyclone: worker in 1
Tornado : galleon in 4 (With Hoover, it can give an additional mined grass to Sufa for 2 turns)
    Typhoon : factory in 5
    Sufa : factory in 17

    Other

    - Lego doesn't have Sanitation yet. Vox neither.

    - Lego, GoW have Corp, ND hasn't

    - I don't know when it happened, but ND is in democracy

    - in F11, we're #2 in production.

    - I don't know if this happened last turn or this, but GoW have built Universal Suffrage in their capital.

    - turn will be sent in 5 minute.

    - I'm trying to include more information in these report, so others can jump in when needed. Long term econ plans should go a long way, and necessary chop directions are iin the current build plans (need to be done in time!). Ships can sail anywhere, as long as they return to port in some 20 turns. Workers are relatively free, each turn a decision is made where they get used, based on if we can pinch off on eta's of factories in any major cities. Soon, they will only be used to add to cities, chop forest, and clean pollution (which I dread, BTW, as is messes up econ plans badly)

    Next Turn

    RR one mountain near Arashi

Which is why I'm taking all cities of growth... enough workers to add when we want to

bah, they pay off... loads of RRs have been completed fast. We still need them for the mountains, and forest chops, but once I don't see any real opportunities anymore, they get added to cities. But, currently, all added workers would mean more commerce, not more spt, and we've got plenty of gold for the moment. So each chop is one factory closer to completion.

Oh, and I intend to keep a crew running around for finetuning MM... whenever we can't use the shields in a city, irr something to build a reserve of food. Once we need shields, mine something and use that reserve. Tedious, but it will in the end mean a few more tanks to invade Lego with, and we can use everything we've got.

I never said so many was a bad thing. You're lucky you have SS and Cyclone as Worker pumps. 3 Workers every 2 turns is quite useful.

luck has nothing to do with it. Both cities have been engineered into this role from long before they were built. Besides, we need those pumps, as the rest of our land is ****, food wise.

It may be something to watch out for, though. We do not need another 50 workers before we invade, there would be nothing for them to do. However, Cyclone can become a 3-turn settler pump (2-turn with factory), and SS can morph into a reasonably average city once we run out of workers to build. Right now, every new worker is still a blessing, though

Come to think of it, did we sell our granary in EotS yet? Otherwise we're wasting 1gpt which we will never need!

I'll look into this, and pillage it if we can. I am right in thinking disbanding buildings does not net any shields before recycling, right? Otherwise we better wait until after Hoover is built...

IIRC you are correct, you need recycle to get shields.

I take it you don't stop by the ISDG much...

Trip, I do visit the ISDG regularly. And while our starting position there was even more ****ty then the GS one, it had (and still has) potential... Stormia has no more potential then what we are using right now. We can't even have a decent palace - FP core on this overgrown island.

The landmass' potential is limited, yes, but the team and its capability is not. You were the #1 power in every category for most of the game until Lego's GA. But, as they say, hindsight...

Time to get back to writing my strat articles.

we were #1 in every category until the fiasco with the Bobian war, you mean. That's were our game went wrong. So we better make sure that doesn't happen to our Lego adventure too, or this game will be lost. Right now, there still is a slim chance of regaining control over this game.

Oh, and we might have a lot of capabilities, but other teams have (nearly) the same, only more divided. It's strange we see some weird moves from teams in which people play which are doing a hell of a job in the ISDG for instance. But then again, now that nye is taking a break, none of the active GS members is doing anything in the ISDG, the other way around will probably also be true for the other teams.

It's been a good game though. Can't expect fate to always shine on you. You've done a lot better than most of the other teams in the game. I'll tell you now I'd rather be in your position than mine.
