  • I don't know if there is a leak at all.

I just had another look at the "Bravery and Cowardice" thread (otherwise known as "GoW Musings About What The Heck Was Going On)...

The first observation was that RP moved a heck of a lotta troops to the west. Second, this is when they started *****ing and moaning that we were / are interfering in their war.

Wouldn't you assume that GS had to find a way to bring a huge number of troops over? Would you think we had the southern transport and troop proximity that we do / did?

      • Quote from Ghengis's message:

Giving Inchon to Roleplay to move vast numbers of troops to invade Bob is HOSTILE ACTIVITY. Landing large numbers of troops on Bob with your fleet is HOSTILE ACTIVITY.
Our knowledge of what really happen influences how we read this. Since we know it was RP troops that teleported, our first instinct seems to be to read it that way. But at the time of the gift, RP's galley was a far out of GoW's sight. And from a linguistic perspective "move vast numbers of troops to invade Bob" could just as easily, perhaps even more easily, be read as "move vast numbers of GS troops so those troops can be loaded onto galleys quickly to invade Bob." (Granted, that would make the two charges somewhat redundant, but I can't see that bothering GF too much. ) So it is entirely possible, just from reading the post, that GoW is putting two and two together and getting five. (And I think UnO's inquiry also omitted the issue of whose troops were in Inchon.)

Of course this particular line of reasoning is aburd in any case, since nothing in our NAP with GoW precluded us from sending vast numbers of troops to Bob in order to engage in hostile activities against ND or RP, nor would it preclude helping RP engage in hostile activities against ND or vice versa. Indeed, GoW originally seemed to want us to send troops to Bob to engage in hostile activities against RP.

        • Am I missing something, and does anybody know of a tactic unknown to me to transport GS troops, other then cats, from Inchon to Bob by teleporting? If so, please speak up, as it will be a lot easier then ship them by boat!

          • As far as I'm aware, no such method exists. In the manifesto thread GoW are more explicit that they think we were using the Inchon gift to move our troops to our capitol for easier loading into galleys to save time. I'm not sure that it would save much time to be honest, but that's the only reason they can see, and is what they are talking about.

            • Indeed, if GF was suggesting we used Inchon to move OUR troops to Bob then he is very much mistaken. It isn't possible. They would only have moved to EotS, right?

GF is a good player and, although short-tempered, is no fool. He knows that isn't possible.

For that reason we have to assume that he was either deliberately telling a lie to provoke us or that he meant RP troops and just phrased himself badly. Both options are highly likely.

              • Hmm... GoW just loves to whine and b!tch when things turn up wrong for them. Don't you find it odd that they kept talking about this war as the one that would shape and create the victors in the game, yet it seems they have no gut for it. I wouldn't be suprised with anything going on in the game, not even Lego and Vox choosing sides. This is the mother of all wars, and should be treated as such.

They have certainly proven they are no warmongers, not by a bit, and now with UnO gone, those ramblings will be the only thing we hear from them for now...

But all this honorable fighting- it might take too long, and RP is slowly but surely pounded- its really a sad sight...

Some manuever is in order, GoW is the weak link, and they have exposed themselves by turning their attention to us. I wonder how ND feels about facing RP alone (although they seem to be doing good).

                • If there was a mole, wouldn't GoW have been *****ing about the catapults? I've seen nary a word (and that's a lot of words after being gone for a few days) about the cats. If they knew, I would think that would make their case a lot stronger.

                  • BUMP

Check out UnO's post and PM- is this a sign that GoW is willing to talk, or just UnO trying to tie up loose ends, wishing for a second chance to strike a deal with us?

That got me thinking, could we just play a little game with GoW? What if we offer to buy a cease-fire with them (including RP)? Of course we couldn't trust them with a real deal, but could it work for our advantage, by keeping GoW troops at home?

                        • I don't think it is really in our interest to strike any kind of deal with GoW at the moment.
However, we can use this to our advantage, as Zeit pointed out.

                          • I've sent a banal- "I just don't see how we can talk in the future, but things may change"

This will give us some time to think, as well as to act, and perhaps keep some hopes up on the other side...

                            • Euh... Zeit, that sounds to me like you have personal issues with the guy. I would have been friendlier, in responding something like "If you want to discuss peace, our door is always open. For the moment, the conditions wouldn't suit us for talk"
