I really have no personal issues with UnO- on the contrary, I think my personal fondness of him might get in the way of perhaps a devious course of action we should take on the diplomatic front. For now, it is best that we sound determined, yet ambiguous in that we don't want to let them feel there's no way back- I do think we're dealing with a team who can't just fight out on the game board without some diplomatic action behind the scenes, they will always seek to talk, plot and scheme, as they have done before...

Hell, that message is worth a shot. If we're sucessful, all the better. If they reject our offer, we only look like bigger jackasses to the team that hates us the most.Join a Democracy Game today!

Well, Theseus has them interested.
The question is... what can we offer them?
Obviously, assistance in destroying ND.
All of ND's territory? (seems fair to me, given what we're asking them to do)
We agree that RP is limited to what they have now, plus Southern Spain (currently mostly empty)?
Think that's enough to entice them?

Thats sounds like a nice deal for GoW to me, certainly alot more than they are likely to get in the current situation.
We shouldn't offer them this straight away, feel them out first and see what they would think to just all of ND's pre-war territory? Are we having fun yet?

The question I have is: what do we want them to do?
1. Stop attacking RP-I think this is a given
2. Attack ND
3. Attack ND and Lego
Obviously the latter two options will require a higher payment
And the problem with GoW is that they rarely live up to their end of the bargain, ie. the two horse landing, the edited screenshots.
That's my biggest concern, coming to an agreement, paying them considerably then them weasling out of it.
thinking along Arrian's line-Kill ND, GoW takes most of the land. RP gains most of its land back. We have a city on a source of saltpeter. If there is one near the coast. Also, gaining Invention and gunpowder possibly.
With thoughts towards a future joint attack on Lego
we have what, over 1k gold now? perhaps an old fashioned bribe is in order.

No, we used our money on unit upgrades. IIRC when I opened the save, we had about 200 gold.

Any thoughts on a response to Un0?
I still really like the idea of a worldwide gang bang on ND.The greatest delight for man is to inflict defeat on his enemies, to drive them before him, to see those dear to them with their faces bathed in tears, to bestride their horses, to crush in his arms their daughters and wives.

According to Arnelos, Lego have been trying to persude GoW to do a hit on ND for some time.
We could remind GoW how they can be assured of easy gains south of their core in such a scenario, compared to the current meat-grinder in Spain, where they have relatively little to gain (at that distance from home).
They would also no longer have to fear the GS invasion. Arnelos reckons that fear of this is already taking units away from the south, and also believes that there are Lego troops on GoW soil, ready to fight GS in the event of a landing.

I'm still not inclined to trust GoW. The fact that they even thought about the offer just disturbed me. To think they'ed go back on an ally at this point makes me think there's a hidden agenda.
Then again, we've not got much to lose. I'd just see what GoW wants for a war against ND.Join a Democracy Game today!

Kind of an annoying message from GoW. Not that anything less would be expected though...
Right now, the official position of GoW is that we are at war with RP, and that any conflicts with Gathering Storm is no more or less than collateral of that war. As such, there are those that would not like to see RP survive the current conflict.
However, we are currently under contract to remove RP from Bob. The concensus on the team is that we need to follow through with that contract to it's end. After this contract is concluded, though, we will, as a team, be open to accepting RP's future from that point.
So, the answer to your original question is both yes and no. We cannot stop aggression on RP at this time. However, once our current contract is resolved, we are open to nearly any new contract.
For a Price.
That price will include a good portion of Bob, I will tell you that now, and that would include access to at least one source of all resources, though we are discussing possibility of having those gifted to us.
From our point of view, we are already promised half of Bob by tiles and resources under our current contract. A contract with a nation you already agree has been faithfull and peacefull unto us.
Basically, would GS accept removal of RP from Bob as a condition to be met before GoW can enter into a new contract?
Secondly, if so, what is GS and her allies willing to pay GoW for assistance in attacking ND? An assistance which offers the greatest risk to GoW, not any of the others involved.
The main thing we offer GoW is not taking them out of the game, or at least not razing Imperial city. Although perhaps they don't see it that way.
Other than that this looks promising, the previous examples of GoW carrying out a contract in the lamest/most pointless way, are promising too.
Perhaps with a yellowknife landing and 7 or 8 galleys headed in the direction of Imperial city they might be even more interested in a deal. Are we having fun yet?

Not that I think we should be so arrogant as to point out how differently we see the situation, that won't get us anywhere.
Perhaps just hint at the fact that their position isn't that great at the moment.......
The saltpeter situation is tricky, it is likely that they are negotiating under the assumption that we don't think we have access to salt peter... or perhaps there isn't any on Stomia and they're hoping we'll give up access to SP in RP territory before we discover gunpowder....Are we having fun yet?

I say we friggin' land at YK and then renew 'diplomatic interaction'.
What was F-P's MP philosophy? Put the pointy end of the stick in the other guy?
I don;t know if this stood out, but my latest PM does suggest a course of action that's a little tricky: We give refuge to RP in North Stormia, and take control of all there cities on Bob. GoW contract? Fulfilled. Backstab of ND? Priceless. The greatest delight for man is to inflict defeat on his enemies, to drive them before him, to see those dear to them with their faces bathed in tears, to bestride their horses, to crush in his arms their daughters and wives.

I like how they didn't have a problem breaking their contract with us, ie. the screenshots of Vox's army, but this one, oh this one is a sacred cow.
screw 'em.
