The invasion had one simple goal: getting Iron. No matter who would be there, really.

Monty had a deal set up for Iron, but my guess was it would be cut as soon as we got the technology to actually use it (with Cavalry being almost ready anyway).

Good thing Monty took over the land where Monkey would have had Coal, Aluminum, and Oil. And Rubber.
    Seriously. Kung freaking fu.

Yeah, I reckon that the only way this map could have been made "fair" would have been if we had all of the coal, apart from one resource on your continent.

60 units only? Bah, we had 40+ knights to greet them with, and the "simian pirate nation" had offered help just to cause you trouble

Oh well, our biggest problem was of course lack of comittment. Hard to make decent long-term strategies without it.

I knew Monkey were just going to try and piss us about. That was why I kept back all of the horsemen to block the coast I would not trust Beta anyway - in every demogame which we have been on opposite sides, we always end up at war in the med era...so I reckoned I was due another run up against Beta.

Yeah, I figured invasion was a waste of time, and that was why I was also sending ahead a scout party. I was about to call the whole thing off; I know intercontinental invasions are almost impossible to do. Bob, and all that...but then again, where where all of those units? or we could just release all of the passwords to the save...

Oh, and Bongo, when were you going to finish the GL? Unless you were going to finish it when you got the save, I would have beaten you to it. I'm just curious, that's all.

Tabemono had a large chunk of units in the LL territory (obviously), but we had a very sizable homeland defense force, thanks to my paranoia

Hey, Zargon, what is you password? I would be willing to post ours, if you would as well...

Well, let me check with the team members I can find, but I can't imagine they'd have a problem with it...

Our GL was due in some 6-7 turns I think so you would have beaten us to it. We also kept a coast-blockade btw.

The game was getting boring in the end, to the point I would attack *anyone* to end it(the boredom, not the game )so had the game progressed, say 10+ turns more I may have attacked sunshine

Our vital stats looked good in the end btw. 1st in population, 2nd in mfg, 3rd in GNP (or was it 2nd even there?)

                  Our Armed Forces
                  units:164
                  1 settler
                  56 workers
                  2 archers
                  2 spears
                  3 horses
                  42 pikes
                  43 knights
                  7 catas
                  5 galleys
                  3 jags

Is the game officially over now so I can post MaSTs password?

All I can remember of the top of my head is that CoD was 2nd in pop, first in MFG, and 1st in GNP, but I was running 10% lux, so it was probably about even...

~ 60 workers (Cow River and Badcrumble were worker pumps, Cow river was a 1 turn pump)

~4 settlers, for the war but probabbly later added to cities,

~25 Muskets, ~36 Longbows, ~15 horse, ~30 cats, 15 Cavarals, and ~8 galleys...overall there were more than 200 units I was paying upkeep for, which was more than I could spend on science.

I'll go first and post the password for the save then:

                    jmason is the password.

                      MaSTs password is hoorayforsaddam

Oh, we still haven't spent our GA. Tabe and LL has spent theirs of course but who else has?

Pythons have finished theirs, and I thin they are the tem that is fighting you for 2nd place in GNP...

Mine started not next turn, but the turn after, when I completed the Great Lighthouse.

Then I was looking towards ToE and Hoover for deniel purposes.

                        ---

BTW, Somehting I have to ask - Would any team have ever considered trading Iron to either CoD or Python? I really doubt it, but I still have to ask...

Depends on the price I say, after all, the last half of the middle age is when iron is least important as you have longbowmen, musketmen and cavalry(?). No important iron units...well, few important units (cannons and frigates??)

um...Something you won't klnow Bongo, is just how far behind in tech you are...

CoD and Python had between them Education, Astronomy, Banking (all from Python in the GA), Chemistry (CoD). coD was about to finish Physics in 2 turns, and something similar for Python and Metalurgy. SS were in a similar position as us, Tabemono were ever so slowly improving their tech sitiuation (they had Chem and Education, and were probably going towards Mil Trad)...

I was less than 10 turns from the Ind Era...and with the GA in two turna, less than 15 turns from rails. If I could get the iron

Checking exactly *how* far we were behind would have been on my to-do list prior to an iron trade. Giving you iron to kick off you industrial GA would have been a BIG no-no

We have been behind in tech most of the game. I am not surprised to learn how primitive we are compared to the rest of the world. Even the monkeys are ahead of us

Measuring the tech disparity isn't that hard really, but for the last year or two none on our team bothered to even try.

And we(I) suck at diplomacy too

Yup, we sure were. What ever would've given you that idea? I can't recall off the top of my head how far away we were, but Cavs weren't too far down the road.

Tabemono probably isn't in as great a shape as it could be, mostly because my attention to detail had sort of waned over the last few months. I'll bet one of you prime MMers could clean us up nicely, though
