I, personally, would add one more thing to Paddy's list:
Play so that everybody in the game can have a good time.
Yeh, I know, that sounds all 60s hippy stuff, but I have a different view of these games. I like to think that we are all working together to build a wonderful story. If somebody gets lost along the way, it pulls the event down.
