hehe, the devil be in the detail...

the detail was that the Bards were telling us on one hand that they had no troops and they were on a 100% war footing

then we find one city with 5 swords, 3 cats, and a spearman, and that they were 3 turns away from completing a granary

all of which we considered to go against the statements of no troops and a 100% war footing

so the granary individually really was no issue, yet when added with the number of troops, and Bard statements etc...

well yes Horde paranoia took over

this picture shows it all unfortunatly, we obviously focused to much attention on paranoia, and not enough on trusting the silence of the bards

well it certainly seems that there is not much chance of turning the situation around now
You never asked for such information directly, Paddy. You talk so much in character that it's impossible to understand what you are asking half the time ... but trust me, I would have told you in a minute if you had asked "why are you building granaries" or "why do you have swordsmen in nirvana" or even "what are your home forces". As soon as I could load the save, I'd have told you, barring it being at 1am (which it usually was, don't forget, with both myself and McM. We both had 8am type jobs that required some sleep ...)

We never, ever, claimed to STILL be on a 100% war footing. We said - repeatedly - that we had been burnt out by the war and exhausted domestically, and needed some time to regroup - I more than once said we probably wanted to wait until chivalry, if possible, especially if your Antioch attack (or Bab's Aquarius attack) had gone through. We made plans tens of turns ago, for that very combination - we send a stack to the east and you come in hard to Sidon and then Antioch. It would have worked, too, especially if you hadn't delayed ... those delays should have told us something, I guess.

Yes I must admit, the Horde did choose a rather arduous path between Sidon and Antioch, through the mountains and hills to the east

But as they say, that's history now
