Relax Senators. I meant what I quoted. This is a succession game and the players have to be trusted to play. If we appear to be taking it too lightly, perhaps it is because it is the only way we feel we can even be a part of all these 'grand and serious' affairs.
And why get all in a huff in the first place?Just because they don't have the strengths of you, doesn't mean you should belittle them
What is there really to discuss that is so all important that we need to sit here like a bunch of pompous armchair glory-seeking Senators who snarl at a light-hearted jest. Is there a limit to the polls and strategy and think-tanks around here? I think not. Perhaps this is the one of the better places to joke, and for that matter perhaps it is a reflection of the truth of a cross section of the players here. Perhaps some of us just don't care enough to act the o-so-noble senator parts you expect from us. Perhaps we would rather see the Bananis Imperalis play drunk and in the IRC chat room where we can share in the drunken stupidity. Or perhaps we don't. Perhaps it was best said in your seriously posted quote:

Esoteric and Rasputin, you don't seem to understand what i'm saying. So i'll say it in clear english (or latin, whatever)...
This game is supposed to be fun. For that purpose, we have the Three Weeds Tavern, where people can joke and be silly and whatnot.
This game is also supposed to be interesting and competitive. For that purpose, we have the Senate, where people seriously debate the merits of various proposals, and encourage the general direction of the Emperor's play.
