It's because this game really isn't about civilization, or strategizing, or politics, or amendments or census polls. It's about pretending you're an egyptian living in the ancient era and fantasizing about building aqueducts and the glory of ancient wonders and sailing to some unknown island with chicks and an unlimited supply of booze. Or wine. Or banana extract or whatever.

Well, with my engineering background and all, I've been tinkering with new ship designs, that can be used in the future. Its quite interesting, though you may call me crazy. One of the things Im working on is about 400 meters long, with a frame and skin made of a very powerful metal and a deck of a shapable stone i call concrete. Its purpose is as a warship. It carries giant metal birds that are flown by people off the deck to protect the ship and attack others. It will be propelled with a new energy source Im working on, much more powerful than wind or muscle, it is. It may be made into a weapon itself, I predict. It will have a crew of a few thousand and could sail on even the roughest of seas.... but, its all still on the drawing board. If you think that is crazy, I have this other crazy idea of a vessel that actually is made to sink! And it travels underwater!
Yeah, yeah, laugh if you must, but someday Apolytonia will have the strongest and most powerful fleet in the world!

As for the new land. The first city we find that is out of the prying eyes of our despotic, opressive government, I'm rushing a brothel house (a custom improvement in my mod). Im gonna need one after a long voyege with no women... are you sure ther is no room aboard for women. I think i might be in over my head.... no, no, Kman what are you saying. Just think of your brothel when this is all over with. You'll be rich, and have all the women you want...

Name of the boat is AES Trip. This was decided in the chat earlier today. (AES = Apolytanian Exploration Ship). No, not that chat, just hangin out in the apoly chat room was all.

OK, by having our local witch doctor killing a goat and reading the blood smears, I have been informed that there is only room for the girls, or the supplies. Not both. So what do you recomend? Either remove the girls or the 5000 bottles of wine. Or both? The girls have said that they don't care much either way.

Nope, I dont drink alcohol. Just good old water out of my nice sturdy lead pipes for me! Lead piping allows me to have running water out of the small water tower I built in back of my new shack.

In my spare time i like to experiment with chemicals, its another love of mine. Perhaps this is knocking things loose? This whole science thing is a hoot, though! Just the other day I found a quicker and more efficient way to refine crack, using sulferic acid. mmmm, the fumes smell great and the finished product is top quality

got any extra? I might be able to trade it with the germans to get some apple fritters. The French love apple fritters, so I can trade with them to get some silk stalkings. Romans love silk stalkings - they use it to filter out the sludge in the wine I sell them. With some roman rope (good solid hemp of course), I can talk to the persians about the whale sperm. I don't know what the Aztec use it for, and I don't think I want to know, but they will give us some good glass products for it. Aro can make little animals out of the glass, and with these the Russians will give us some leather. Yes, that is where Ninot gets his leather from, but don't spread it around.... With the leather whips thePlagueRat will make, the greeks will give us some of their bachlava, mead and other honey products. The babalonians love honey, they often buy it from the Iroquois for lead piping.......

Never mind. Guess we don't really need any of that extra lead piping.
