Expansion Pack Civs (Part 4): A never-ending story?
Yes, let's drop all of the interesting civilizations in under-represented areas of the Earth! Replace them all with even more European civs! I'd much rather have two Polish cities in Eastern Europe than an Iroquois empire in North America...

You have now entered the Civilization IV era! A guide to City Specialization Building Elite Units

BTW...I agree with a lot of comments regarding civs that need to be in, but a couple of things to keep in mind:
1) if we looked at all "valid" civ (i.e. ones that made significant contributions to society) we'd have 200+ (yes, including Hebrew)
2) many civs were extensions or contractions or others, so many (i.e. Turks/Byzantines/Ottomans) will overlap
Here are my votes, in no order (with short justification):
1-Spain (leader in exploration, first country to champion nationhoon, IMHO) - 20 pts.
2-Mongols (controlled more area than any empire ever) - 20 pts.
3-Arabs (can't overlook such a broad and long-standing influence in worl affairs) - 15 pts.
4-Canada (I'm Canadian, so....) - 20 pts.
5-Turks (another empire that controlled a portion of both Asia and Europe) - 15 pts.
6-Inca (the only large empire native to South America, and a good natural adversary for Aztecs) - 15 pts.
7-Bantu (very large African empire from which much of it continues draws its current languages) - 20 pts.
8-Austronesian (anthropologically speaking, this includes descendents from Vietnam and Papua-New Guinea, plus Pacific Islanders, Maori and Australian aborigines - yes, it's a diverse group, but they are connected and they are small individual groups) - 15 pts.
9-Vikings (encompasses much of Scandanavia, led exploration in northern hemisphere) - 20 pts.
NOTE ON BABYLONIANS: This is a collective term more than a specific one, and includes Summerians, Pheonicians and Akkadians. I think it's pretty inclusive.

That's incorrect, actually - the Chimu empire was a predecessor empire until the Incas wiped it out. Unfortunately few people know about the Chimu - the Incas are generally remembered more because they got wiped out by the Spanish.
